उत्तर प्रदेश: आज सोमवती अमावस्या के पावन अवसर पर काशी में श्रद्धालु आस्था में डूबकर गंगा में डुबकी लगा रहे हैं। ऐसी मान्यता है कि आज के दिन डुबकी लगाने से इंसान के सभी पाप धुल जाते हैं और भक्तों पर भगवान की कृपा बनी रहती है। इस अवसर पर वहां मौजूद एक पंडित ने कहा कि आज का दिन बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि अमावस्या और पूर्णिमा दोनों ही दिन स्नान और धार्मिक अनुष्ठान के लिए महत्वपूर्ण माने जाते हैं। खासकर आज सोमवती अमावस्या होने के कारण स्नान से मिलने वाला पुण्य अत्यंत दुर्लभ और लाभकारी है।
