00:00In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
00:15Peace be upon you.
00:16In today's gathering, we welcome all our guests with a warm welcome.
00:21Mr. Shah, thank you very much for coming.
00:29Mr. Shah, Sufism is now being taught as a subject in many universities.
00:34What do you think is the reason for so much research on Sufism?
00:39Is it because we are able to identify ourselves through Sufism?
00:43I don't think a person is able to identify himself through Sufism.
00:52It is good that Sufism is being taught as a subject.
00:55It will have two benefits.
00:59Firstly, the contaminations in Sufism will be eliminated.
01:07Secondly, the concepts that have been developed about Sufism…
01:16None of us can understand Sufism through the reference that it is.
01:26We have taken the meaning of Sufism as a practice through which
01:33a person can attain supernatural powers.
01:38That is Sufism.
01:39That is spirituality.
01:41It is a practice through which a person can be accepted.
01:48We have also established a standard of acceptance of prayers.
01:55If a Fakir or a Dervish prays, it will be accepted.
02:03It is not like that.
02:06The one who listens to the prayer, accepts it and fulfills it is God.
02:14He is the owner of his own will.
02:18No one can force him.
02:21He can listen to anyone's prayer, accept it and fulfill it.
02:26He can reject anyone's prayer.
02:29These are the concepts that have been established about spirituality.
02:36A Fakir or a Dervish who has been blessed by God
02:45can be called a friend of God.
02:49He can be called one of his relatives.
02:54But he is a human being.
02:56He is helpless in front of God.
02:59He has no power.
03:01It is wrong to think of him as a prayer machine.
03:08I can at least say what I think.
03:12When I go to a Fakir,
03:15the only purpose of my visit is to ask him to pray for my promotion.
03:22If that prayer is accepted and I get promoted,
03:26I will be praised.
03:28If that does not happen,
03:31I will give him a direct order.
03:36He will say,
03:37Sir, it is just like that.
03:39It is just like that.
03:42However, I should remember that he is also a human being.
03:48He has also prayed to God.
03:51God has his own will.
03:53He may or may not accept prayers.
03:57We have started using these people for wrong purposes.
04:03The right use of these people was to learn from them
04:08what has brought them closer to God,
04:11so that we can become closer to God.
04:14It is just like this.
04:16If I become friends with a doctor,
04:19I can take my patients to him every day
04:26and ask him to treat them.
04:32It is not good to take advantage of his friendship
04:37and start learning medical science from him
04:41so that I can treat people myself.
04:44So, it is better to take advantage of these people
04:49so that we can learn something from them
04:52so that we can become closer to God.
04:55Absolutely.
04:56There are many people,
04:58Sir, who always complain to you
05:00that you do not give them time.
05:02No, it is absolutely right.
05:04I will not deny this.
05:07People have a lot of difficulty with me
05:11that they do not get time from me.
05:15But a problem has arisen
05:19that I am a very old person.
05:23So, when it comes to age,
05:26a person does not have that much stamina,
05:31nor is he as efficient,
05:34nor is he as fast as he was in his youth.
05:39So, old age itself becomes a compulsion.
05:43Another problem I have is that
05:47I still work and earn a living.
05:53I have to give time to my family.
05:57Otherwise, if my wife divorces me at this age,
06:01it will be a problem.
06:04Then I have to give time to my children.
06:10I have to give time to all of them.
06:13Apart from that, I have to give time to my friends and family.
06:17So, those 24 hours,
06:19unfortunately,
06:21I have not been able to stretch it to 48 hours.
06:26Those 24 hours remain.
06:29I can do this,
06:31that I can shrink the 3 or 3.5 hours of my sleep
06:36and give time to the person who comes to me.
06:41But there is also a problem
06:45that if I sit here,
06:47I will start yawning and clapping.
06:51So, 3 or 3.5 hours is my compulsion.
06:55Otherwise, the rest of the time is divided.
06:59I am not giving a justification.
07:03Complaints are on my eyes.
07:06But that complaint arose because
07:10my will is not involved in it,
07:12but my compulsion is involved in it.
07:14Shahsab, you have just mentioned miracles.
07:17So, whenever we read about Sufis,
07:20we get the mention of their miracles,
07:22which fascinate us a lot.
07:24We feel that if we become friends with Allah,
07:27then we will be among the blessed people.
07:31But most of the attraction is towards miracles.
07:35So, when I listen to your lectures,
07:37I feel that we should not focus on miracles.
07:40In fact, we should worship Allah
07:42because Allah is worthy of worship.
07:45So, a question that comes to my mind from there is
07:48that the Spiritual Guide plays a very important role
07:51in our upbringing.
07:54So, will there be a Spiritual Guide
07:57between us and the fire
08:00on the Day of Judgement?
08:03Will there be a Spiritual Guide to save us?
08:07Or will there not be?
08:09The Day of Judgement.
08:11That is why it is called the Day of Judgement.
08:15It will be the moment of Judgement.
08:18There, man will have to give his own answer.
08:22In terms of miracles,
08:24my request is that
08:26the thing that has changed our thinking
08:30is that all the books written on Sufism
08:34and the saints,
08:36they were written by their followers.
08:40It so happened that you wrote a book
08:44that your Spiritual Guide
08:46used to walk on water.
08:50I read that book and said
08:52that my Spiritual Guide was left behind.
08:54So, I wrote a book
08:56and made my Spiritual Guide walk on air.
09:00The third person read that book
09:02and said that my Spiritual Guide
09:04was left behind.
09:05He made him fly in the air
09:07without reading.
09:10The books that were written on Sufism
09:14only mentioned miracles.
09:18They did not mention
09:20how their Spiritual Guide
09:23used to do Jihad
09:27in terms of worship
09:30and in terms of living in this world.
09:34Whereas, the authentic saints
09:37who have passed away,
09:39you read their books.
09:42Those books do not mention
09:44any miracles or miracles.
09:47They only mention the ways
09:51through which one can attain
09:55the pleasure of God.
09:59We have written such stories
10:02for the sake of the story.
10:05The books written by the followers
10:08and the believers
10:10do not mention any miracles
10:12or miracles.
10:16The interesting thing is
10:19that spirituality is such a path
10:23through which
10:25the person who is bothered
10:28about what he will get
10:30and when he will get it,
10:32he will not get anything
10:34for the rest of his life.
10:36The one who calls upon God
10:38only to go to Him,
10:40he will get everything.
10:42Has anyone ever mentioned
10:44any miracle to you?
10:46Because you tell us
10:48about your spiritual guide,
10:50the one who gave the example
10:52of the heavenly lightning.
10:54And you said that if I mention
10:56any miracle, I can tell
10:58a lot about my spiritual guide.
11:00So, tell us about yourself.
11:02Has any of your followers
11:04ever mentioned any miracle to you?
11:06The thing is that
11:08I will like it if you call me
11:10a saint of God.
11:12I am a very sinful person.
11:14So, what miracle can a sinful person
11:16have?
11:18Yes, I can tell you
11:20about my miracles
11:22in my sins.
11:24I will tell you about it
11:26in detail.
11:28But the fact is that
11:30I am telling you
11:32the whole truth
11:34that I am a very bad person.
11:36I am a very sinful person.
11:38I have never been
11:40connected to God.
11:42So, how will I get
11:44any miracles?
11:46Yes, it is true that
11:48the day I am not able
11:50to work with my hands,
11:52I will start
11:54my propaganda
11:56that I am a very great saint of God
11:58and I have received miracles.
12:00Come to me and keep
12:02presenting miracles.
12:04So, people will pay more attention
12:06to what he is giving
12:08I would like to ask you a question.
12:10There is a slight difference
12:12between patience and patience.
12:14So, I would like you to
12:16talk about it.
12:18Patience and patience
12:20are the same thing.
12:22There is only a hairline
12:24difference between them.
12:28Patience is in both.
12:30If I tolerate
12:32a pain
12:34and I am
12:36complaining to God
12:38that I am dead
12:40and I am in trouble,
12:42then it is patience.
12:44You will not get
12:46any result
12:48from it.
12:50It is possible that
12:52in some cases
12:54I will be punished
12:56that I am complaining
12:58to God instead of
13:00thanking him.
13:02But if I tolerate
13:04with a smiling face
13:06or
13:08if someone asks me
13:10where I am in trouble
13:12and how can I be in trouble
13:14when my God is not there
13:16then it is patience.
13:18It is a great
13:20reward
13:22that God
13:24will be with those who are patient.
13:26The people who
13:28come to me
13:30they must have heard
13:32that
13:34why should we
13:36go to someone
13:38for prayer?
13:40God
13:42listens to all of us.
13:44God listens to those
13:46who do not believe in God.
13:48God listens to those
13:50who do Shirk with God.
13:52Shirk is
13:54the thing that God
13:56has condemned the most.
13:58So, we are
14:00so why will God
14:02not listen to us?
14:04You will get to hear
14:06this in my
14:08conversations
14:10that I am saying this to people.
14:12The second thing is
14:14that I tell everyone
14:16that no one
14:18has any power.
14:20All powers are with God.
14:22The one who listens to prayers
14:24is God.
14:26A minute ago
14:28I told you
14:30that everyone's knowledge is limited
14:32no matter where they sit.
14:34It can never be said
14:36that all the prayers
14:38of a person will be accepted
14:40or
14:42the knowledge
14:44of a person is complete.
14:46A person
14:48is not complete
14:50in any way.
14:52His knowledge is incomplete
14:54and so is his intellect.
14:56If we take a person
14:58as a person
15:00then we do not face any problem.
15:02A minute ago I was saying
15:04that we have
15:06made a machine
15:08to pray
15:10for the poor.
15:12We have made it
15:14a machine
15:16to make people pray.
15:18A minute ago
15:20I was saying
15:22that we should go to
15:24people and
15:26learn from them
15:28about how to
15:30walk on the path of God.
15:32This is their real effort.
15:34Unfortunately,
15:36our worldly desires
15:38have become so strong
15:40that we have made
15:42a machine to pray for them.
15:44You have just
15:46shared your own experience.
15:48When you came here
15:50I told you
15:52that your mother is alive.
15:54Who is a greater saint than her?
15:56Ask her to pray for you.
15:58I try my best
16:00to discourage people
16:02who come to me
16:04to come and
16:06pray for them.
16:08However,
16:10if I can
16:12be a source of
16:14their peace of mind
16:16then
16:18I consider it
16:20my good fortune
16:22and
16:24the only good thing
16:26that I can do
16:28is that if
16:30a person comes to me
16:32crying and
16:34leaving with a smile
16:36then I consider
16:38that the only thing
16:40that I can do
16:42is that I become
16:44a source of happiness
16:46for him.
16:48So,
16:50I consider it
16:52my good fortune
16:54to come to me.
16:56You are absolutely
16:58right in saying
17:00that why should we
17:02go to anyone
17:04when God listens to us.
17:06You will find this
17:08everywhere in my books.
17:10Out of the ten books
17:12published so far,
17:14you will find
17:16that God listens to you
17:18too.
17:20So, pray at home.
17:22Sir, everyone is talking
17:24about acceptance of prayers.
17:26I have seen that
17:28people who are
17:30just saying
17:32what they want
17:34to say,
17:36or
17:38they are just
17:40talking to God
17:42and
17:44what is their
17:46speciality?
17:48I mean,
17:50do they have
17:52a different
17:54connection with God?
17:56A little while ago
17:58I said that
18:00God is the
18:02master of His will.
18:04He can accept
18:06anyone's prayers.
18:08There are three stages
18:10of prayer.
18:12God listens to you.
18:14It is mentioned in the Quran.
18:18God accepts your prayers.
18:22The prayer is heard,
18:24the prayer is accepted,
18:26and the third stage is
18:28that the prayer is fulfilled.
18:30Later on,
18:32he became a great personality.
18:34He was great, but not
18:36a great personality.
18:38So, he had
18:40a great personality.
18:42It was around 1990.
18:44He took me
18:46to attend a gathering
18:48for women.
18:50He said,
18:52you will attend it.
18:54I went.
18:56After the gathering,
18:58there was food.
19:00I was standing
19:02with an empty plate.
19:04He told me
19:06to say a prayer.
19:08He said,
19:10I wish
19:12to have a grandchild.
19:14He said,
19:16I have two sons.
19:18I wish to have
19:20a son.
19:22I said,
19:24God will give you
19:26a grandchild.
19:28The conversation
19:30was over.
19:32He became
19:34the number one
19:36and retired.
19:38One day,
19:40he came.
19:42It was in 2019.
19:44He had sweets in his hand.
19:46He had become very old.
19:48He gave it to me.
19:50I said,
19:52why did you bring sweets?
19:54He said,
19:56I have a grandson.
19:58I said,
20:00I thank you.
20:02I said to him,
20:04tell me,
20:06how many curses did you give me?
20:08The prayer
20:10was completed
20:12after 19 years.
20:14Sometimes,
20:16we pray to God.
20:18It is completed
20:20in a very short time.
20:22Because
20:24the time had not come.
20:26Sometimes,
20:28God accepted
20:30your prayer.
20:32God did the work.
20:34That is why we say,
20:36God knows better
20:38what is good
20:40and what is bad for us.
20:42God knows better
20:44what we need at what time.
20:46What was your next question?
20:48I want to know,
20:50does testimony
20:52turn obligations into goodness?
20:56Like,
20:58people say,
21:00you are a pious person,
21:02but you are serving as an obligation.
21:04So, how do
21:06obligation and goodness
21:08relate in these matters?
21:10Or,
21:12obligation is an obligation
21:14and goodness is goodness.
21:16So, where does obligation
21:18turn into goodness?
21:20Does goodness count?
21:24Obligation is that
21:26we have to do
21:28in every situation.
21:30If you
21:32do a job,
21:34I do a job.
21:36It is my duty
21:38to fulfill
21:40my job description.
21:42Instead of that,
21:44I am getting a salary.
21:46So,
21:48expand this a little more.
21:50My employer,
21:52who is giving me a salary,
21:54he has bought
21:56my 8 to 4.
22:00And it is his right
22:02that I do his job.
22:04If I do not fulfill his right,
22:06then my salary
22:08will not be considered lawful.
22:10So, when we
22:12fulfill someone's due right,
22:14we are
22:16fulfilling our duty.
22:18You can call it like this.
22:20Goodness is that
22:22when we
22:26do not fulfill
22:28our duty,
22:30if someone does not have
22:32any right on me,
22:34I do good for him.
22:36So, I am doing good.
22:38In the beginning,
22:40I had said that
22:42the God
22:44who expects
22:46at least from a Muslim
22:48is just.
22:50So,
22:52to understand this,
22:54if you do
22:56a partnership
22:58with someone,
23:00and it is decided
23:02that the profit
23:04will be 50-50.
23:0650% will be yours
23:08and 50% will be the partner's.
23:10When you account
23:12after a year,
23:14then the profit
23:16which is
23:18100 rupees will be yours
23:20and 100 rupees will be his.
23:24So, you
23:26as per contract,
23:28give him 100 rupees
23:30as his share.
23:32After that,
23:34you take 25 rupees
23:36from your share and
23:38tell him that
23:40you do not need it.
23:42You can keep it
23:44and enjoy.
23:46You gave him
23:48so beautifully
23:50that instead of
23:52thinking that
23:54you have favoured him,
23:56he is thinking
23:58that you gave him
24:00out of your love.
24:02He was my right.
24:04Now, you took
24:06from your share
24:08and gave him
24:10some of your right.
24:12If you come to know
24:14that this person
24:16is in need of money,
24:18then you stop your need
24:20and give him
24:22100 rupees of your share.
24:24I was shivering
24:26from head to toe.
24:28He recited
24:30some verses of Quran
24:32and explained its translation.
24:34I must have
24:36read those verses
24:38many times in my life,
24:40but when I heard
24:42those verses,
24:44I realized that
24:46I have never thought
24:48like that.
24:50He explained that
24:52those people who
24:54feed others
24:56despite their need,
24:58Allah will reward them
25:00in Paradise.
25:02He will give them
25:04such a place
25:06where they will not
25:08have to walk
25:10on earth.
25:12Now, this sacrifice,
25:14no matter how small
25:16or big it is,
25:18has a great reward.
25:24My request
25:26would be,
25:28although I do not
25:30follow this myself,
25:32it is very enjoyable
25:34when a person
25:36does not follow
25:38Allah's command.
25:40I was reading
25:42a book by
25:44Bernard Shaw,
25:46I think,
25:48or
25:50Bertrand Russell,
25:52I do not remember
25:54the author.
25:56The Happiness,
25:58is the name of that book.
26:00In that book,
26:02he wrote that
26:04he went in search
26:06of happiness
26:08all over the world.
26:10He quoted some names.
26:12There is a name of a Pakistani
26:14in that book.
26:16He said that he met
26:18at the helm of affairs
26:20all-time powerful people
26:22to see
26:24whether they
26:26get true happiness or not.
26:28But he did not find
26:30a single person
26:32in the world
26:34to get true happiness.
26:36So, I was
26:38terminating my journey
26:40in the jungles of Tibet
26:42to find true happiness.
26:44There I met
26:46a man
26:48and I found
26:50that he had
26:52true happiness.
26:54But
26:56the price
26:58he had to pay
27:00to get true happiness,
27:02I felt that
27:04I do not want
27:06true happiness.
27:08On a wooden board,
27:10there were pointed
27:12clouds.
27:14And that man
27:16was lying on those clouds.
27:18His back
27:20was bleeding
27:22because of those clouds.
27:24But I saw that man
27:26who had
27:28infinite happiness.
27:30So, I told him
27:32that I do not want
27:34true happiness.
27:36But the truth is
27:38that when we
27:40make a sacrifice
27:42and give happiness
27:44to that man,
27:46the happiness
27:48in our heart
27:50is priceless.
27:52You will not be able
27:54to appreciate its value.
27:56Who wants to ask a question?
27:58Peace be upon you.
28:00Peace be upon you.
28:02My question is related to Palestine.
28:04If we look at
28:06the current situation,
28:08apart from
28:10the Muslim Ummah,
28:12if we talk about the people
28:14of that area,
28:16their trust in Allah is unparalleled.
28:18The calamities
28:20that are coming upon them,
28:22they are bearing it with patience
28:24and gratitude.
28:26Why are they not receiving
28:28Allah's help?
28:30Allah has said in the Quran
28:32that those who are patient,
28:34Allah's help is with them.
28:36Allah does not leave His pious people alone.
28:38So, if we all are left alone,
28:40we do not have any action,
28:42we just speak with our tongue.
28:44Their action is in front of the whole world.
28:46Why are they not receiving Allah's help?
28:48All these atrocities have been going on for a long time.
28:50Why are they not receiving Allah's help?
28:52Another thing is mentioned in the Quran
28:54that Allah delays the disbelievers
28:56so that
28:58one day their sins will be such
29:00that their eyes will be watching
29:02with fear.
29:04This is a great thing
29:06that they are delayed in their sins
29:08and their sins are shown to be good
29:10so that their punishment is severe.
29:12But if this is being delayed,
29:14then it is not a good thing
29:16for those who are still bearing it.
29:18As you all know,
29:20this world
29:24is a world of cause and effect.
29:26It is a world of causes and effects.
29:30And
29:32this world is being run
29:34under a certain
29:36program.
29:40To run it,
29:42just like everything has
29:44its own rules of the game,
29:46similarly,
29:48this world also has
29:50its own rules of the game.
29:52We call it
29:54the law of nature.
29:56The law of nature
29:58is very simple.
30:00You plant
30:02an apple tree
30:04and eat the apple.
30:06If you plant a cucumber,
30:08you will get thorns.
30:10We Muslims
30:12are
30:14unfortunate.
30:16Whatever
30:18Allah has
30:20told us
30:22to live our lives
30:24without going
30:26into detail,
30:28we do not
30:30live our lives like that.
30:32The result
30:34is that
30:36whatever we are doing,
30:38it is fruitless.
30:40Secondly,
30:42the crime
30:44of weakness
30:46is the
30:48punishment
30:50of death.
30:52So, Muslims,
30:54despite
30:56all Allah's
30:58worldly blessings,
31:00we have not been able
31:02to strengthen ourselves
31:04by spending Allah's blessings
31:06in that direction.
31:08We have
31:10violated another law of nature.
31:12Thirdly,
31:14Prophet Muhammad
31:16said that all Muslims
31:18are like a body.
31:20If a part of the body
31:22is in pain,
31:24the whole body
31:26feels the pain.
31:28They are fighting
31:30for their rights.
31:32But,
31:3457 Muslim countries,
31:36is anyone going
31:38to help them?
31:40This is another
31:42point.
31:44When we do not
31:46fulfill our duty
31:48that was given to us
31:50by Allah,
31:52how can we
31:54complain to Allah?
31:56This is
31:58one aspect of it.
32:00Secondly,
32:02Prophet Muhammad
32:04himself said that
32:06those who
32:08do not
32:10believe in Allah,
32:12those who do not
32:14believe in Quran,
32:16Prophet Muhammad,
32:18Allah's true
32:20and last Prophet,
32:24are worthy of
32:26being punished.
32:28But,
32:30the reward of their hard work
32:32and good deeds
32:34will not be borne by Allah.
32:36Allah will not
32:38take away
32:40the reward of
32:42their good deeds.
32:44Those who
32:46disobey Allah,
32:48will be
32:50punished
32:52in this world.
32:54In the hereafter,
32:56Allah has nothing
32:58to give them.
33:00So,
33:02those who
33:04do good deeds,
33:06the reward of their
33:08good deeds
33:10will be given
33:12by Allah.
