00:23His Majesty the King Mohammed VI presided yesterday at the Royal Palace in Casablanca
00:28a working session devoted to the issue of the revision of the family code.
00:33The head of government, Aziz Akhanouch, and several ministers attended this meeting.
00:37Details in a few moments.
00:42Benyamin Netanyahu mentioned the progress for an agreement for the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip.
00:48The Ramas and other Palestinian groups also claimed that an agreement for the release of hostages was closer than ever.
00:58In France, after a week-long exchange between Prime Minister François Bayrou and President Emmanuel Macron,
01:05a new government has been formed.
01:07A team marked by the return of several ministers from the former team.
01:11We meet again in a few moments for the development.
01:16Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the day after the working session presided by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI
01:25on the reform of the family code.
01:27This morning, the government held a meeting to communicate around the project
01:32and outline the tracks of the reform of the Moudawana.
01:36On this occasion, the Minister of Justice, Abdelhatif Ouarbi,
01:41unveiled a few approved proposals, including the inheritance of daughters
01:46which grants parents the right to donate their living beings to their daughters, even minors.
01:53Moroccans living abroad will be able to, from now on,
01:59contract the marriage without the presence of two Muslim widows.
02:04Or the maternal custody, which remains valid even after the remarriage of the mother.
02:14As announced in the titles, His Majesty the King Mohammed VI presided yesterday
02:19a working session devoted to the issue of the revision of the family code.
02:24The head of the government, Aziza Khanoush, and the Minister of Solidarity, Social Insertion and the Family,
02:31Naima Ben Yahya, attended this meeting.
02:35The details are with Sheyma Fikri.
02:39This working session took place after the institution in charge of the revision of the family code
02:44submitted to His Majesty the King a report containing more than 100 proposals for amendments.
02:50This also took place after His Majesty the King wanted to seize the Supreme Council of the Ulama
02:56concerning certain proposals related to religious texts on which the Council issued a legal opinion.
03:03It also took place after His Majesty the King proceeded to the necessary arbitration
03:08on the issues on which the institution issued more than one opinion
03:12or those whose revision required the use of the opinion of the Shariah.
03:16This working session is an opportunity to highlight the capacity of the Constructive Ijtihad
03:22in the deduction of the rules of the Shariah, the right environment and the moderation of the Moroccan school of faith
03:28which lays its foundations in the religious constants of the Kingdom.
03:32In this context, His Majesty the King called on the Supreme Council of the Ulama
03:37to pursue the reflection and adopt the Constructive Ijtihad on the issue of the family.
03:42In order to clarify the main contents of the revision of the family code,
03:46the Sovereign ordered during this session the head of the government and the ministers
03:51to communicate with the public opinion and to keep it informed of the novelties of this revision.
03:56Concerning the legislative phase of the revision of the family code
04:00and the discussions and votes that will follow it in the two chambers of the Parliament,
04:04His Majesty the King recalled the references and the foundations that must frame it.
04:08These are principles of justice, equality, solidarity and coherence taken by Islam
04:14as well as universal values emanating from international conventions ratified by Morocco.
04:20His Majesty the King also underlined the need to keep in mind the desire for reform and openness on progress
04:27desired by the Sovereign through the launch of this initiative
04:31and to guarantee the protection of the family on the legal, social and economic levels.
04:38To come back to the contours of this session of work
04:42dedicated to the question of the revision of the family code,
04:45Driss Haissaoui, political and economic analyst, gives us his opinion.
04:50We are in the presence of the completion of a long process
04:55which was started, of course, following the instructions,
05:00the high instructions of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI
05:04for the ministries, for those who are concerned with the reform of the family code
05:10which, by the way, started in 2004.
05:13The new family code is a reference at the national and international level
05:18and it is an approach that is related to what His Majesty wants
05:24to be given to women and families as a fundamental cell of the organization of society.
05:33I think that there is work that has been done, and as you have highlighted,
05:38there is the Ministry of Justice, the Minister of the Habsburgs,
05:43the head of the government and the minister in charge of the family issues.
05:50So all the parties concerned with this subject have been present
05:55and I think that everything that has been given to the government,
05:59everything that has been shown here through this work session,
06:04consolidates this process that His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, may God bless him,
06:12wanted to give to this file to ensure that this family code
06:20is truly a process of evolution of everything that Morocco has been able to do.
06:29Leila Amili, President of the Free Hand Association,
06:33comes back on the priority changes that should be included in this revision
06:39to guarantee a real equality between men and women in the family code.
06:47Well, we did talk about the marriage of minors, Article 20 and 21,
06:52because it was just, as we said, it became standard,
06:59the marriage became normal.
07:02I attended, in 2004, there was a very, very important and relevant discussion
07:08about the marriage of minors.
07:10It was in specific cases, 17.9 months and all,
07:15and then we find marriages of children,
07:19we can't say girls, but children,
07:22because we vote here in Morocco at the age of 18,
07:25so we have to respect the age of 18.
07:27Also for Article 49, where there is the sharing of goods.
07:30And there, when we talk about the sharing of goods,
07:33there are rumors that children want to take money from men,
07:36they want to do that.
07:37It's not like that at all.
07:38What we want in Article 49, when we talk about the sharing of goods,
07:42is that we have to accept, we have to be given,
07:46to seriously respect the work of women,
07:50especially women in the family,
07:51because they say that women in the family do nothing.
07:53We asked to be paid,
07:55because there are women who do huge things,
07:58either women in the family, or women in the informal,
08:02and we say in the sharing,
08:05if in some cases there is a divorce,
08:09then it is the woman who suffers more and more.
08:11And that means that we have to respect our families,
08:14we have to respect our children,
08:17because after the divorce,
08:19we don't like the divorce,
08:20but after the divorce,
08:21it is the children who pay,
08:23and it is the woman who pays more and more,
08:26especially because we have enough bread today.
08:29And even Sadana, Louis Léon,
08:33is broken,
08:34because we don't want to know that the family with girls,
08:43it's like a problem,
08:45and the family starts to think,
08:47like in Tassib,
08:48it's the people, the uncle, the good,
08:51the uncle who comes to share the good of a small family
08:56that has only one car or one house.
08:58We have to think seriously,
08:59it's not the fact of having only girls in the family,
09:02we have a problem.
09:03We have to respect the families,
09:05even if they have men, boys or girls,
09:08because it's a huge problem
09:10that we don't give much importance to,
09:12and it's the children who suffer,
09:14and it's the family who suffers,
09:15in all these cases.
09:17Present yesterday in Rabat,
09:19Kasem Al-Araji,
09:20Counsellor of National Security of the Republic of Iraq,
09:24reiterated the position of his country,
09:26supporting the territorial integrity of the kingdom,
09:29after these interviews
09:31with the Minister of Foreign Affairs,
09:33Nasser Bourita.
09:34Al-Araji said that this meeting was an opportunity
09:37to address several regional issues,
09:40adding that dialogue and diplomatic action
09:43are the basis for the resolution of all problems
09:46and differences.
09:50This time in the Middle East,
09:52Benyamin Netanyahu mentioned yesterday,
09:54with caution,
09:56the progress for an agreement
09:58for the liberation of the hostages
10:00held in the Gaza Strip,
10:02one of the conditions for a ceasefire.
10:04Indirect negotiations,
10:06last week in Qatar,
10:08between Israel and Hamas,
10:10with Dora and Egypt as mediators,
10:12revived the hope of an agreement
10:14on a truce.
10:15Everything we do
10:17cannot be revealed,
10:19but we are acting to bring them back home,
10:23said the Israeli Prime Minister
10:25during an intervention in Parliament,
10:27Hamas and other Palestinian groups
10:30had also said on Saturday
10:32that an agreement on a ceasefire
10:34was closer than ever.
10:47It is a decision made by a high religious authority
10:50in Palestine.
10:51Christmas celebrations in the Holy Land
10:54will be limited to religious rituals
10:56due to the war
10:58waged by Israel against the Gaza Strip.
11:00Raja Engo tells us more.
11:05Palestinian children will spend
11:07Christmas in a context
11:09of pain, grief and suffering
11:12caused by the war waged by Israel.
11:14Churches around the world
11:16are called to pray for men,
11:18women and children
11:20deprived of the joy of Christmas.
11:22The celebrations will take place
11:24in empty churches.
11:25Many pilgrims have been killed,
11:27injured, displaced
11:29or even carried away.
11:34Christmas is a moment of joy,
11:36but the Church of the Holy Land
11:38is not complete without its pilgrims.
11:40The region is currently very depressed
11:42due to the lack of pilgrimages.
11:44Christians are free to leave
11:46and we help those who remain.
11:48I hope this situation will end soon.
11:50We are in great need of hope in this land.
11:52The Church of the Holy Land
11:54is just as empty.
11:55Only the songs of the Armenian monks
11:57resound from the crypt
11:59where Christians believe that Jesus Christ was born.
12:01In Gaza, efforts to put an end to the conflict
12:03and obtain a ceasefire,
12:05even for Christmas,
12:06have not yet been successful.
12:08The violent occupation of Jordan
12:10has intensified since the beginning of the war.
12:12Despite the devastation caused in Bethlehem,
12:14the city of birth of Jesus Christ
12:16will celebrate Christmas.
12:20As we live in pain,
12:22we cling to hope.
12:24The essence of Christmas lies in worship and prayer.
12:26Our responsibility is to keep
12:28the light of Christmas lit in our hearts,
12:30carrying a message of hope
12:32that puts an end to pain
12:34and restores joy for humanity.
12:36We call you to join us
12:38to express your solidarity with our people,
12:40those who suffer from pain,
12:42hunger and persecution.
12:45Last year,
12:47Christmas celebrations
12:49had also been limited
12:51to religious rites
12:53due to Israeli attacks on Gaza
12:55triggered on October 7, 2023.
12:57In this war,
12:59more than 44,000 people were killed,
13:01including nearly 17,000 children.
13:05According to the UN,
13:07the difficult living conditions
13:09continue to endanger
13:11the lives of children in Gaza.
13:13The majority of 2 million Palestinians
13:15displaced by Israeli bombings
13:17that have been going on for 14 months
13:19struggle to protect themselves
13:21from the difficult weather conditions
13:23developed with Shema Figrin.
13:28Lack of blankets and warm clothes,
13:30little wood for the fires,
13:32so many torches.
13:34Palestinian families suffer from the cold.
13:36With night temperatures
13:38that can go down to 4 degrees Celsius,
13:40parents fear
13:42that their children will get sick
13:44without warm clothes.
13:46We used to live safely and warmly
13:48in our homes,
13:50but today we live in tents
13:52exposed to the cold and rain.
13:54There is no blanket to protect us.
13:56We have nothing over our heads
13:58and even the tents are torn.
14:00We don't have enough clothes.
14:02All I have are summer clothes,
14:04like the ones I'm wearing now.
14:06According to the UN,
14:08nearly one million Gazais
14:10suffer from the cold during the winter.
14:12The organization also fears
14:14that the infectious diseases
14:16that increased last winter
14:18will multiply again
14:20in a context of growing malnutrition.
14:22It's freezing, it's raining.
14:24Look at my child,
14:26he's completely soaked.
14:28Rainwater infiltrates everywhere in the tent.
14:30I placed this tin box here
14:32to collect the water.
14:34This night, especially, it was very cold.
14:36I woke up and found my child
14:38The negotiators say that Israel and Hamas
14:40are getting closer to an agreement
14:42to cease fire,
14:44including an increase in LED in the territory.
14:46For now, winter clothes for sale
14:48on the Gaza market are too expensive.
14:50For most people,
14:52the inhabitants and humanitarian workers
14:54have said so.
14:56During this time,
14:58the Israeli army said today
15:00on Telegram that it had intercepted
15:02a projectile launched from Yemen
15:04before it entered
15:06the Israeli airspace.
15:08According to them, the Syrians
15:10have tried again because of the possibility
15:12of a flash drop during the interception.
15:14Monday, Benjamin Netanyahu

19:20Moroccan tourism reached
19:22new heights in 2024,
19:24historical records
19:26that strengthen the kingdom's
19:28reputation as a destination
19:30of choice worldwide.
19:32Nearly 16 million tourists
19:34visited Morocco during
19:36the first 11 months of 2024,
19:38recording an increase
19:40of 20%, or 2.6 million
19:42additional visitors
19:44compared to the same period
19:46of the previous year,
19:48according to the Ministry
19:50of Tourism, Crafts and Social
19:52and Solidarity Economy.
19:54This progression is supported
19:56by an increase of 23%
19:58in the number of foreign
20:00arrivals, or 1.5 million
20:02additional visitors.
20:04Internal tourism
20:06is not left out,
20:08with 30 million nights
20:10recorded,
20:12also of the same type.
20:18In the country of elephants,
20:20the Ivory Coast,
20:22through the Ministry
20:24of Tourism,
20:26aims to make
20:28this sector
20:30a hub in the sub-region.
20:32Several actions
20:34are being carried out
20:36by TUTEL,
20:38such as the distinction
20:40of the actors promoting
20:42tourism. More details
20:44with our correspondents
20:46from the Ministry of Tourism.
20:48The Ivory Coast, a country
20:50with strong tourist potential,
20:52aims to become the regional hub
20:54of West Africa.
20:56Thanks to its sublime
20:58Ivory Coast road map,
21:00the country hopes to attract
21:025 million tourists per year.
21:04It offers classic
21:06seaside tourist offers,
21:08but it also highlights
21:10its new cultural circuits.
21:12Today, the Ivory Coast
21:14highlights major events
21:16such as the so-called present gala,
21:18sublime of tourism, a ceremony
21:20dedicated to the distinction of the actors
21:22of the tourism and leisure sectors.
21:24The tourism economy
21:26is more comfortable
21:28and will go even further
21:30because the government
21:32wants to take the bet
21:34to make the tourism economy
21:36the third economic pole

22:14and to know that I was able
22:16to make my contribution.
22:18This award is to make
22:20the work that has been done eternal.
22:22It is a great pride,
22:24but beyond pride,
22:26I think it is a recognition
22:28for the work we have done since 2016.
22:30Since 2016, we have invested in tourism
22:32by creating the first 100% tourist agency
22:34in the Ivory Coast.
22:36Eight years later,
22:38I think it is also a recognition
22:40and a validation
22:42of the work we have done.
22:44My joy is immense,
22:46it is a pride.
