UN condemns death of World Food Program aid workers in Sudan

The UN condemned on Dec. 20, 2024 the death of three World Food Program aid workers in Sudan. The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) said that three of its staff were killed in war-torn Sudan's Blue Nile state on Dec. 19 after an aerial strike on its compound. WFP Executive Director Cindy McCain demanded a thorough investigation and for the perpetrators to be held accountable, Dujarric said. In a statement the Sudanese government expressed its condolences for the deaths, and condemned any attack on aid workers or the UN It said it would investigate the incident but added that the army did not have any activities in the area.
