UN Rights chief calls Gaza hospital evacuation orders 'death sentence'

Israeli orders to evacuate hospitals in the north of the Gaza Strip are 'a death sentence' given the state of the territory's overall medical system, says the UN's human rights chief Volker Turk. He added that Israeli demands for Palestinian civilians to relocate to an 'IDF-designated so-called safe zone' are alarming, casting doubt on the validity of such zones when 'established unilaterally.'

00:00 Some hospitals, including Al-Quds and Al-Shifa hospitals, have also received specific evacuation
00:06 orders in addition to the general evacuation orders to all of northern residents of Gaza.
00:14 But such evacuation, as the World Health Organization has warned, is a death sentence in a context

00:30 Demands for civilians to relocate to an IDF-designated so-called safe zone are also very alarming.
00:38 A so-called safe zone, when established unilaterally, can heighten risks to civilians and raises

00:51 At the moment, nowhere in Gaza is safe, as bombardments are being reported in all parts
00:57 of the Strip.
