00:10To testify here that the more than 10,000 women massacred didn't massacre themselves.

00:21Thank you very much.

00:25I thank the representative of Algeria for their further statement.

00:29The devastating Israeli attack on the Al-Tibin School in Gaza City,

00:34which prompted this meeting, points once again to the desperate need to reach a ceasefire,

00:40free the hostages, and scale up humanitarian aid to Gaza.

00:45It became apparent long ago that this Israeli government could care less about them.

00:53The hostages know it. Their families know it.

00:58You know it in the Security Council.

01:02Israel is killing them, abandoning them, playing with their lives.

01:09Netanyahu has other priorities, self-serving ones, maniacal ones.

01:17He's a maniac.

01:19Something terrible is happening in Israel,

01:23something that has made justifying genocide, famine, and gang rape mainstream ideology.

01:32To those who continue to arm Israel,

01:36to those who still have the audacity to call on Israel, quote-unquote, to investigate its own crimes,

01:46as if the actions of its soldiers do not reflect the actual policies of its military and political leaders,

01:55to those who dare to try and deter international courts from ensuring accountability

02:03instead of deterring the perpetrators of atrocities,

02:08wake up.

02:11Wake up.

02:13On Saturday, August 10th, Israel targeted not a school, not an innocent school.

02:23We targeted dangerous terrorists operating in a Hamas command-and-control center within al-Taba'in school.

02:34As usual, Hamas cynically abuses civilian facilities which should be protected as their terror bases.

02:44This strike eliminated at least 31 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists

02:52who carried out attacks from inside this compound.

02:56Right now, as we speak here now, millions of Israelis are preparing for a direct Iranian attack,

03:05just as they did in April.

03:07Iran's aggression threatens the entire region with war, a regional war.

03:15Yet you are here, wasting time on falsehoods spread by the words of terrorists.

03:21Now we are once again in a moment of heightened threat.

03:25Consequently, the United States has taken needed precautionary steps,

03:30including moving an aircraft carrier group and additional air assets to the region

03:36so that should the situation arise again,

03:39we are prepared to defend Israel and U.S. military personnel in the region against any threats.

03:47But let me be clear, our deployment of additional military assets are not a prediction of what is to come.

03:56The United States is deeply concerned about reports of civilian casualties

04:00following the August 10th strike by the IDF on the compound in Gaza

04:06that included a school and a mosque,

04:08sheltering desperate, displaced people including women and children.

04:14We have raised our concerns with Israel

04:16and while they indicated they were targeting senior officials from Hamas and Palestinian Jihad,

04:23they have an obligation to do everything possible under international humanitarian law to protect civilians.

04:31The school was sheltering several hundred displaced families,

04:34many of whom had moved there because of recent evacuation orders,

04:38and the strike was conducted during dawn prayers.

04:41Initial reports suggest this was one of the deadliest attacks on a school

04:45sheltering displaced people since the start of this conflict.

04:49Tragically, this was far from an isolated incident.

04:52Indeed, such attacks appear to be occurring with increasing frequency.
