00:00We're counting down the top three hurricane videos of the year.
00:04Let's start with our number three video.
00:06Powerful hurricane Beryl made landfall in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula.
00:10Before that, it moved across the Windward Islands, producing widespread devastation
00:15as it reached Category 5 status.
00:17It was all about the wind, right?
00:18You can see those powerful wind gusts strong enough to bring down gas stations in some
00:23video.
00:24Then it made landfall.
00:25Beryl is a hurricane in the upper Texas coast, and we have a lot of wind and flooding damage
00:30in the Houston area.
00:31Powerful, powerful storm.
00:32Our number two video is coming from Hurricane Debbie.
00:35Hurricane Debbie dropped torrential rainfall like you're seeing here in Sarasota, where
00:3815 to 20 inches of rain came.
00:40It was the first hurricane landfall in Florida as it strengthened, but it was not the last.
00:46It was not the last.
00:48Let's get to our number one video.
00:51It's from Hurricane Helene and Bernie.
00:52I remember being on air when these videos came in.
00:55Just a tremendous amount of rain fell in the North Carolina mountains here, and all that
00:59water fell in the mountains, rushed down into the valleys and into the streams.
01:03Look what happened in Asheville.
01:05This video was taken from someone's third floor apartment building, and you can see
01:08what was left of the Asheville Tea Company just being shredded by a power pole.
01:13We will certainly remember this video.
