Property Update: Gary Neville

Since the news broke of the development at No.1 St Michaels, there has been a lot of buzz, here is all you need to know about it.

00:03World.

00:04Today we're going to be talking about number one, St Michael's, a development led by former

00:08Manchester United full-back Gary Neville, who in recent years sort of moved away from

00:11his history as a footballer, despite his current punditry, and moved towards getting himself

00:16involved in a bunch of business opportunities, including property.

00:20The big news coming out of the office development at St Michael's is that it has been fully

00:23let even before completion, which means that it's the largest speculative office building

00:28to do that in 15 years.

00:30It should be opening in late spring next year, with construction having started back in 2022,

00:35and six office tenants have already been secured for it.

00:38The development is set to be a net zero carbon commercial development, and will eventually

00:43have tenants from a host of different sectors.

00:45We're talking stuff like AI, media, legal, and technology.

00:50Number one at St Michael's has been such a success, in fact, that another 80,000 square

00:55feet of office space is set to be made available at a neighbouring office space, at a neighbouring

01:00building, which you've guessed it, is called number two at St Michael's.

01:04The offices are in a prime location, and are set to be offering all kinds of great amenities

01:08for office holders, so it does seem to be a genuinely great opportunity.

01:12This obviously isn't Gary Neville's first foray into property development, but it does

01:16seem to sort of be the jewel in his crown at the minute.

01:18An example of this is that St Michael's have attracted such companies as Choto Mate, a

01:22global Japanese-Peruvian restaurant brand that is set to reside on the rooftop of the

01:27development.

01:28This will be the first restaurant they have outside of London in the UK.

01:30Neville also had his hand in the development of Hotel Football, a hotel which is within

01:34walking distance of Old Trafford, and it's the only one that has a five-side football

01:38pitch on the roof.

01:39Well, certainly the only one that I'm aware of.

01:41He's also turned his hand to education with the UA92, a university that offers courses

01:45such as digital marketing, business of football, and digital content production.
