00:24most polluted sites into a nature reserve and mixed-use development with housing.
00:29North East Derbyshire District Council is now to receive up to £1 million thanks to
00:33funding from the East Midlands Combined County Authority.
00:37The local authority has been working with partners Emca, Homes England and Derbyshire
00:41County Council to deliver the project.
00:43The money will pay for a new junction to the southern part of the Avenue site off the A61
00:48south of Chesterfield which means that the building of the new homes can start.
00:52The junction will be controlled by traffic lights in a bid to help with the safe movement
00:56of traffic on this busy road.

01:03This was one of the most polluted sites in Europe and I am proud of the work that we
01:07have done to regenerate the site, which is now home to new properties, and this funding
01:11will help deliver over 100 affordable homes, new infrastructure, jobs, economic growth
01:17and more for North East Derbyshire.
01:22Charity Chiefs have increased their reward for information after the latest knifepoint
01:26robbery linked to a series of armed raids across Derbyshire.
01:29Independent charity Crimestoppers is now offering a £3,000 reward given to them anonymously
01:35that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for 8 separate knifepoint
01:39robberies which have been linked and have taken place in Derbyshire in recent weeks.
01:44The reward will last for 3 months and will expire on 12 March 2025.
01:49The most recent incident took place in the co-op store in Ashbourne in Blenheim Road
01:53on December 8th and saw a man enter the shop just after 10.30pm and steal a significant
01:59amount of cash.
