00:35According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture,

00:37from 220,000 metric tons of frozen buffalo meat or carob beef used in corned beef,

00:45the Philippine will import more than 6,000 metric tons in 2025.

00:50The Department of Agriculture approved the accreditation of 34 Indian companies

00:56from 6 plants that supply carob beef in the Philippines

01:01to import buffalo meat to the country.

01:04According to the DA, this gives the manufacturers a chance to choose a source

01:09in the face of the spread of food and maltese in different countries.

01:13This will also help reduce the production cost of corned beef.

01:18Now, the number of raw materials will not be limited.

01:22Corned beef will not be depleted.

01:24We are buying more Indian buffalo meat, not today, but historically in the last few years,

01:32versus China, Malaysia, and Indonesia, because they have accredited more plants than us.

01:40So we are holding our suppliers before this.

01:43Well, the DA now is accrediting a lot of other countries in South America

01:47to be able to supply pork, chicken, and beef to the Philippines

01:53so that we can expand our sourcing.

01:56It doesn't mean that we will import more,

01:58but we need to open up supply sources so that we can fight.

02:05Look at what happened in India.

02:07Only six plants were able to enter the Philippines.

02:13To improve the supply and price of other products, such as pork,

02:17the DA will remove the color-coding system for those affected by ASF.

02:22The only positive formula for ASF is the prohibition of releasing pets,

02:26but not the whole barangay or city.

02:28It will be called ASF-infected or ASF-free in one place.

02:34In the face of the spread of bird flu,

02:36the DA was able to issue P300 million

02:39for the purchase of 30 million doses of the vaccine against avian influenza.
