00:00Who's that my d-
00:02Hey. Hey W. I'm Lex Scott Davis. I'm Stephen Amell. I'm Josh McDermott. I play Stewart. I'm Brian Greenberg. Come on in
00:09Let's get suited up
00:19So I played Ted Black. I play Rick Dodson. I play Stewart Lane. He's a very powerful criminal defense attorney
00:26I play Erica Bollins. She's an entertainment attorney. Rick Dodson is I would say he is the moral compass of the show
00:35He tries to do the right thing, but it's not the easiest thing to do in this town and in this business
00:39Stewart Lane is very powerful. He's very funny. Maybe he's not but I think he's funny
00:44He's also a guy you don't want to cross. But if he's on your side, I mean, he's the guy you want on your side
00:50You know, I mean Erica can be seen as a little uptight, but she is loyal
00:56she's very confident in what she does and she cares deeply about her clients and
01:01Cares deeply about Ted who's played by Stephen Amell. I wouldn't say I'm power-hungry, but I'm
01:09Powerful I am ambitious entrepreneurial and occasionally stubborn
01:15Erica's style is asymmetry. She likes to be a little edgy. She'll wear skirts, but she loves wearing pants
01:22We love playing same-level with the boys and I think it really does show in her wardrobe
01:26It's something I wanted to make sure we had exist in the story
01:33Stewart Lane on a regular workday is probably wearing the nicest suit you can buy
01:38I think it's the best suit you can buy. I think it's the nicest suit you can buy
01:42He's not gonna show up in jeans and a t-shirt for a deposition or anything like that
01:45You know, it's like you need to know that the guy you're sitting across from
01:49Takes everything seriously including his wardrobe
01:52He's probably in but you know, Brioni suits canali if it has several commas in it, he'll buy it working with the costume designers
01:59I get to be a little bit more fashion forward, which is cool
02:01I mean, I don't know if we can drop names, but this is Dior right here, you know, Gucci, whatever. Don't worry about it
02:06I think she just has an expensive taste and if I'm honest that expensive taste is really Jolie our costume designer
02:13We have the same costume designer Jolie that the original series had. I have made a concerted effort on this show to just
02:20step back and don't pretend that I know anything about Brioni or Tom Ford or Dior or
02:27All of these wonderful designers that I get to wear
02:29I didn't know that there were varying degrees of how nice a color was
02:32Until recently and now I do now my personal fashion is incredibly inadequate for me
02:38I think on a regular day off Stuart
02:41Probably sitting around the house. It's something very comfortable cashmere even in july
02:46He doesn't care because cashmere looks good on everybody. Rick is always in the office
02:50I'm, like first in the office last leave. So I think i'm always in a suit. I think I wake up in a suit
02:55What would ted black never do?
02:57Probably these crocs that the costume department did up for me that I like walking around in because I have lower back pain
03:03So wait a minute. I feel like i'm limiting myself. Hang on
03:09I watched the original suit series online like everybody
03:14I mean, I didn't see it on USA because I was busy shooting The Walking Dead. I didn't have time to
03:20Do anything. It was kind of boring. I didn't have time to do anything. It was kind of boring
03:24I didn't have time to do anything because I was constantly cleaning zombie guts off of my body
03:29It was such a fun show to watch and it's right now proving to be a really fun show to do
03:34I only watched it after I was up for this role when I got the role of suits la I was like
03:39I can't watch the show because then i'm just going to be doing what they did and I really as much as
03:44That show's amazing and it was really good and I would love to binge it like everybody else
03:48I don't I want this to be our own show and I don't want to get caught up in
03:52Their patterns and their rhythms. So i'm kind of
03:55I'm not watching it on purpose
03:57So I didn't watch the original suits when it was on and when it was announced that I was playing the part
04:03I realized the magnitude of how many people are obsessed with the world of suits
04:09But I watched it so I could understand the tone understand the world
04:12Obviously i've watched it now and I love the show. Um, I need to finish all the seasons
04:19I had this discussion with Aaron the showrunner and the creator of the show and he was like
04:24Don't finish it actually like come up with who you want to be like we understand the world
04:29We understand the tone
04:30But we're not trying to copy the exact same things and the exact same characters or choices
04:37My character has a history with one of the characters from the original series
04:42We came up together in the da's office when I finally caught up to it. I was like, oh, this is a great show
04:48I'd love to I wish I could have done this show because it seems like it would have been a really fun show to do
04:54cut to
04:55Suits la. I mean
04:57I can't believe it
04:59I can't believe i'm here doing it. I can't do this
05:02I never know. It's like does this look good? See here's the thing when you go
05:08Yeah
05:12There's room for romance on the show, I mean everyone's gorgeous so it's kind of hard not to
05:19See somebody fall for someone. The truth is I feel like erica could probably end up with anyone on this cast
05:25So i'm just kind of roaming free in that sense and just letting the scripts as they come
05:30I'm finding out when you know, everyone else is finding out essentially. Is there any romantic?
05:36Tension in the suits universe. Yeah spoiler alert. Yeah all the time
05:43with everyone
05:44Everyone's in play stewart and ted have like a older brother younger brother dynamic
05:50They kind of butt heads a little bit and um at the end of the day, you know, ted is my boss
05:55So our morals are not in sync. So i'm always kind of like battling with him to try to do the right thing
06:00I think I got it. Does that look good?
06:03Yeah
06:06So
06:11If I had to choose another lawyer to hire it would be
06:16stewart
06:17And rick. Oh, I would hire rick. Rick is the guy who actually does the work i'm in the office
06:23I'm, not just like going at premieres and whining and dining people. I'm actually going over the contracts. I care about my clients
06:30Maybe ted will sign them and then i'm the one that like closes the deal
06:33I get it done. Brian greenberg said he would hire rick. So rick of him to choose himself. I love it
06:39I feel like now I have to hire stewart
06:41But that would mean i'm in criminal trouble and I don't necessarily want that I would go with erica played by lex
06:47I'd hire erica. Did they choose me? They chose me, didn't they? Yep. They're my guys josh who plays stewart is a little
06:56Mean for me
06:57Rick is a little nice for my taste lex scott davis. I need you
07:03To handle my career, please
07:05Get my contracts done. Erica is just right there in the middle
07:10Also, her character doesn't know anything about the world that I live in in terms of like the acting world
07:16Just that's a character trait of hers
07:18So I like people who don't get caught up in the minutiae of what we do. I think this is looking good
07:24I think the time is uh the right length. I think we're ready
07:28Let's get to set
07:34So we are ready let's go
07:44How's the tie too long a little bit see that's why you cover it up
