00:00In spite of the harassment of the Philippine ships in the West Philippine Sea,

00:03Chinese Ambassador Huang Ziliang insisted that they are not a threat to any country and that they are not starting a war.

00:10President Bongbong Marcos, on the other hand, ordered the security agencies of the country not to raise tensions in the West Philippine Sea.

00:17Here is our report.

00:19In April this year, the Philippine Coast Guard's BRP Bagacay was able to safely guard the China Coast Guard

00:28and was able to reach the entrance of the Scarborough Shoal or Bajo de Masinloc.

00:33As far as I know, this is the first time that a Philippine Coast Guard ship was able to get this close to the Bajo de Masinloc.

00:42Since then, China has been strictly monitoring the area that is included in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines

00:49and part of the territory of the country.

00:51We were attacked.

00:53The last incident was only here last week,

00:55where only 30 kilometers before reaching the Scarborough Shoal,

00:59the BRP was blocked, flooded with water, and hijacked by a Chinese Coast Guard ship.

01:05The BRP continued to monitor the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources or BFAR until it was removed.

01:11In spite of these moves by China,

01:13in the 13th Manila Forum for Philippine-China Relations,

01:17Chinese Ambassador Huang Ziliang said that China is peaceful and not conquered.

01:22That is even if China denies that their territory is a large part of the South China Sea based on history,

01:29including parts of the West Philippine Sea and the Philippines' EEZ.

01:34Since the founding of the People's Republic of China,

01:39we have never provoked a war, started a proxy war, or occupied one inch of others' land.

01:47In addition to the Chinese Ambassador,

01:49no other country has the right to threaten their security.

01:53When we are facelessly accused of being a security threat by former colonists and aggressors,

02:05we can't stand the test of history.

02:08And nobody is aware of the reasons behind it.

02:13The Chinese Ambassador did not mention who he was attacking,

02:17but the Philippines is known for the former occupation of Spain, America, and Japan.

02:21Countries are now calling for China to follow the rule of law.

02:25Aside from the aggressors,

02:28China has no other desire but peace.

02:31China and the Philippines have maritime differences,

02:35but China has always insisted on managing and addressing the differences through dialogue and consultation.

02:45We have maintained several restraints,

02:47and at the same time, we will take measures against provocation

02:52and safeguard our legitimate rights and interests.

02:57We asked for the reaction of the AFP and the Philippine Coast Guard

03:00regarding the statement of the Chinese Ambassador,

03:02but they did not make a statement.

03:04Despite China's repeated harassment of Philippine ships inside our Exclusive Economic Zone, OEEZ,

03:10President Bongbong Marcos also made a statement at the Joint National Peace and Order Council meeting in Camp Krame.

03:15Our President said that we should refrain from provocative stunts in the West Philippine Sea

03:22so as not to escalate tensions in the West Philippine Sea.

03:26The government also plans to buy an unmanned aerial vehicle that will be used in the West Philippine Sea.

03:31The drone that we will use,

03:35because the gasoline we will use is really expensive,

03:39we will use our water assets to guard.

03:41Despite the limited and expensive capabilities,

03:44the Armed Forces of the Philippines will continue patrolling.

03:47In terms of our deployment in the West Philippine Sea,

03:50it's a constant that the Philippine Navy is there 24-7.

03:55We are patrolling our waters, asserting our sovereignty.
