00:00The Philippine Area of Responsibility is yet to leave Baguio-Marce.
00:05A new low-pressure area has been built outside the park.
00:09We will now talk to the Assistant Weather Services Chief, Chris Perez.
00:14Sir Chris, good morning and welcome to Balitang Hali.
00:18Good morning, Katrina and to all our viewers.
00:22Sir Chris, where is Baguio-Marce at this time and when is it expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility?
00:30At this time, it continues to move near the northwestern boundary of the PAR.
00:35And earlier this morning, it was at a distance of 165 kilometers from the city of Laguag, Ilocos Norte.
00:43So if it continues to move, we expect that this afternoon or later tonight, it will continue to leave our area of responsibility.
00:53But at this time, our countrymen should know that even though it continues to move,
00:57we still have tropical cyclone wind signals in some parts of Northern Luzon.
01:04Yes, that's right Sir Chris, where are the places that will remain under the tropical cyclone wind signal?
01:11Even though we have lowered the warning signal, there is no longer a number 3,
01:15we still have a high wind signal number 2 here in the northwestern portion of the mainland of Cagayan.
01:20It is also the same in the western portion of Apayau.
01:22Warning signal number 2 is also in Abra, Ilocos Norte, and in the northern portion of Ilocos Sur.
01:28So we expect that these areas will still be able to experience strong winds
01:33that will reach up to 88 kilometers per hour and rains
01:37that can still lead to some isolated cases of floods, especially in low-lying areas,
01:42and landslides in areas near the mountains.
01:46Meanwhile, there is still a warning signal number 1 here in Batanes, Babuyan,
01:50in the remaining part of Cagayan, in the northern and western portion of Isabela,
01:54as well as in the northern and western portion of Nueva Vizcaya,
01:58in the northwestern portion of Quirino, in the remaining part of Apayau,
02:02here in Calinga, Mountain Province, Ipugao, Benguet,
02:06in the remaining part of Ilocos Sur, La Union, in the northern and central portion of Pangasinan.
02:11The areas that have a warning signal number 1 will still be able to experience
02:15rain and sometimes a gust of wind.
02:18For the complete details of the municipalities that are located in some areas,
02:23for example, in the northern and western portion of Nueva Vizcaya,
02:27you can visit the website of Pagasa for the complete list of municipalities
02:32in the areas that we mentioned earlier that still have warning signals.
02:36What is the chance of a new typhoon to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility
02:42that is being monitored by the Low Pressure Area?
02:44Well, this Low Pressure Area, which was located at an altitude of 1,830 kilometers
02:49in the southern Luzon, within 24 hours, there is a small chance of a typhoon
02:54but we will continue to monitor.
02:56This is still outside of our air responsibility
02:58and we are not ruling out the possibility of this being a tropical depression
03:03or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility this coming weekend.
03:06That's why we are warning our countrymen who are posting on social media
03:10regarding the development of the Low Pressure Area being monitored outside the PAR.
03:15Sir Chris, can we expect a brighter time this weekend?
03:21That's right.
03:22Because we expect that it's possible that later this afternoon or night,
03:25the Philippine Area of Responsibility will continue to emerge,
03:28we expect that many parts of the country, including Metro Manila,
03:31will experience a generally brighter time this coming weekend
03:35aside from their isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and night.
03:40We expect short-term rain showers.
03:43Okay. Thank you very much, Chris Perez of Pag-asa.
03:47Thank you very much. Have a nice day.
