00:00This Wednesday's first activities to mark the 20th anniversary of ALBA-TCP began in Caracas,
00:05ahead of the 24th ALBA Summit to take place on December the 14th.
00:09Our correspondent in Venezuela Belén de los Santos has the details.
00:14The ALBA youth has gathered on Wednesday in Caracas to recreate a model of the political
00:20council of ALBA-TCP. In this way, the future generations of ALBA countries continue to
00:25foster practices of solidarity and cooperation envisioned by Hugo Chávez and Fidel Castro
00:3120 years ago at the creation of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas.
00:38For me, it is an honor to be here today in this model of ALBA-TCP,
00:43representing a country as important as the Republic of Cuba.
00:46It has been a very enriching experience. I have learned a great deal.
00:50This exchange of knowledge with my colleagues, with some experts such as Professor Arreaza,
00:55has been a truly unforgettable experience. It is not my first time in a model within
00:59all these international organizations, but it is the first time in an ALBA model,
01:04and I am proud that many of my university classmates and young people
01:07are pioneers in something as important as youth diplomacy.
01:13The young men and women recreating the ALBA political council addressed all key issues
01:18affecting the region. The need to reject and overcome unilateral sanctions through cooperation
01:24was one of the main topics. Another highlight of the event was the participation of Palestine
01:29as a represented state and the unanimous stance of solidarity from the ALBA youth
01:34with the Palestinian people.
01:38As a young person and also, God willing, as a future internationalist, I feel that there is
01:44no better space than the one that is being developed today in this ALBA model to generate
01:50another capacity, another vision for us as youth, because we constantly receive different
01:55types of information, not even information, but rather the disinformation of the normalization
02:02of what is happening, the justification of a genocide that has no justification whatsoever.
02:10They are the future. They are the future. That's why we are witnessing today a meeting,
02:14a gathering of the youth from ALBA-TCP country. This sends a clear message that even the youth
02:22are supporting, are with the Palestinian rights. We are asking for our rights.
02:28We are asking for justice. That's why those young men and women are sending a clear message
02:34that Palestine is not alone. Palestine counts on their support and their solidarity.
02:41At the end of the model, the Secretary General of ALBA-TCP, Jorge Arreaza,
02:45addressed the participants and highlighted the significance of such an event
02:49in terms of educating the young generations of ALBA militants.
02:53These youngsters, Venezuelan youngsters of several universities and several
02:58political parties have done a great job because they could interpret perfectly the principles of
03:06solidarity, cooperation, complementarity, and they were able to express it in a very
03:14good way. And I believe that this is the first one of thousands of models that we have to
03:19do, not only in Venezuela, but in all the countries of ALBA-TCP,
03:24and that this is a way of educating our youngsters.
03:29Solidarity, cooperation, and complementarity. This is how the Bolivarian youth prepares for
03:34the 20th anniversary of the creation of the ALBA-TCP in an exercise that shapes
03:40the internationalists of tomorrow for the construction of a fairer world order.
