00:00Looking at Liverpool and 2024 as a whole, it's a bit of a strange year. It started with
00:08fantastic form and there was a bit of a dip with Jurgen Klopp near the end of the season
00:13where the title race just ran a bit dry for them. In terms of standout players across
00:19the calendar year, who makes that category? Obviously Mo Salah has hit some incredible
00:24numbers once again, albeit his future in the balance, and they've had some fantastic
00:29results along the way as well. Who stood out in a squad level that maybe performed under
00:35Klopp and then also made a fantastic adjustment under Arnish Slott as well? Who stands out
00:40there?
00:41Mo Salah is a funny one because he spent a fair bit of time injured last season after
00:47coming back from the African Cup of Nations, and then he couldn't quite get going. I remember
00:52he was having an argument with Jurgen Klopp on the touchline. So if you look at the whole
00:58calendar year, have there been better players? You could argue for how good he's been this
01:03season, the house being a mean base, Van Dijk's been imperious for a long time now. He's just
01:14back to his best levels. I think Alexis McAllister maybe has gone a little bit under-raced as
01:20he really started coming to the fore towards the end of last season when he started playing
01:25a little bit further up the pitch, started getting goals and assists. He's been a key
01:29cog in Arnish Slott's side. He's been a regular. Tactically, he has to be quite savvy because
01:38sometimes he has to drop a little bit deeper and play alongside Graeme Burke in the number
01:43six. Sometimes he has to choose when to go and play a little bit further up. So I think
01:48Conor Bradley has excelled. He was fantastic. Trent Alexander-Arnold was out injured last
01:56season and has carried on his momentum this campaign. He has an awful lot of opportunities,
02:03but his performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League, it was barnstorming.
02:07The way his tackle against Kylian Mbappe, he'll be remembered for a long time. And
02:13Covina Keller, you've got to give a lot of credit to him. He's come in twice while
02:19Alisson Beck has been injured. He was fantastic last season, helped Liverpool win the Carabao Cup
02:24again. And he's been as good as you could have hoped for while Alisson's been out this campaign.
02:36So yeah, I'd say Mo Salah has been fantastic this season, but I think maybe if people just
02:41forget about towards the end of last season, with some people maybe were saying, well,
02:46should we cash in on him now? But yeah, I'd say Van Dijk and McAllister too,
02:52but special mentions to Bradley and Keleher.
