00:00The Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage, or FRLD,
00:04is pleased to receive warm support from the Philippine government
00:07following the successful hosting of the Philippines
00:09in their board meeting in the country.
00:12The FRLD is a global financing mechanism
00:16to help climate-vulnerable countries,
00:18including the least-developed and small-island developing states,
00:22against the severe effects of climate change.
00:25According to the FRLD Executive Director,
00:28Ibrahima Sheikh Deyong,
00:30they are already targeting the fund
00:31and how it can be quickly accessed by the countries
00:34who need it.
00:36The Civil Defense Administrator,
00:38Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno,
00:41believes that the FRLD will greatly help the fund
00:45to respond to the vulnerable sector
00:47due to the successive typhoons
00:49that left a severe impact on life and property.
