00:00Of course, we're celebrating women in entertainment, including yourself.
00:04Is this just such an exciting time for girlhood and sisterhood that we're celebrating today?
00:09Absolutely, absolutely. And I think it's wonderful that we have these kind of events,
00:13especially given our current climate. It's important that we embrace women,
00:19and we encourage women of all types to just be authentic and really put our name
00:25and everything forward to kind of just keep the progression going.
00:30Of course. What is one thing that you would tell a young Selena
00:34who is about to embark on a journey of being a woman in entertainment?
00:38I would be a lot kinder to myself. I think I was very, I'm still this way,
00:43but I work on it. I'm a little hard on myself.
00:46So I wish I would have just been a little kinder and gentle with myself.
00:52Of course, you're doing such incredible things.
00:54You have been throughout your career.
00:55Emilia Perez is getting such incredible acclaim from critics and your peers.
01:00Is there someone in Hollywood that has reached out to you about this role
01:03that kind of made you go, Oh my God, I can't believe that just happened?
01:06Yeah, I definitely get so surprised to know that people have seen it.
01:11But I would say Saoirse Ronan is one of the most encouraging people I've met in this industry.
01:18She's really lovely.
01:20And outside of yourself, what is one female-led performance
01:23that you really want everyone to see this year?
01:26Oh, this year? Oh boy, that's hard.
01:29I know everyone can't stop talking about this.
01:31I was going to say Cynthia DeAriano in Wicked, but obviously in Nora, Blitz.
01:38Oh, that's too hard. I love all my girls.
01:40I know so many, but everyone's been talking about Wicked.
01:42That has been such an embracing of sisterhood.
01:45What was it like watching that movie?
01:47Me and my sister were very emotional, so I loved it.
