00:00New research from GoCompare has found that financial worries are affecting how Brits
00:06are planning for the festive holiday, with over 35% saying they've made tough decisions
00:12to cut their Christmas budget this year.
00:15The comparison site asked over 2,000 Brits about their plans and worries for the festive
00:20season and 37% admitted they will have to be very careful with their money this year.
00:27A further 35% stated they plan to spend less than previous years or 8% of people are taking
00:34the decision to spend money they don't have in order to fund travel, gifts or other festive
00:40expenses.
00:42But how are Londoners feeling before Christmas this year?
00:57So I do, I mean I do buy Christmas presents.
01:27And I think I've always considered how much money I'm spending, not just now.
01:37And I buy presents so rarely that when I do, I usually buy something that's really nice
01:41anyway.
01:42It costs what it costs.
01:44Try and figure out how we're going to save the same amount next year as last year.
01:48Usually you'd want those savings to kind of creep up as you get older and you start moving
01:52on in your career and all those things, but actually the opposite's happening and we're
01:55struggling to maintain that consistent level of savings.
