00:00As far as the Marquez administration is concerned, it has nothing to do with the impeachment case

00:05filed against Vice President Sara Duterte and says it is a move made by several groups from

00:11their sectors who want to hold the second highest government official of the land accountable.

00:16In fact, the president himself even earlier expressed his opposition and merely wanted

00:21to concentrate on improving the lives of Filipinos. PTB's Alan Francisco has more.

00:26The statement of the president is unambiguous. We have nothing to do with it. We are not going

00:38to encourage that. That is the response of Executive Secretary Lucas Barisamin

00:43on the impeachment complaint filed against Vice President Sara Duterte in the House of

00:48Representatives. Recently, the Agbayan Partylist endorsed the impeachment complaint against the

00:54vice president, filed by civic organizations and families of the victims of Dukhang.

01:00Some of the mentioned grounds include culpable violation of the constitution,

01:05graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust, and other serious crimes.

01:10Barisamin said the move is a clear private citizen's initiative.

01:15Malacanang will leave the process to the House of Representatives.

01:18The president has been very clear about his position on this. So any suggestion

01:27political or instigated by our side, no, that is never true.

01:36President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reiterated his statement.

01:40The impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte would ultimately bring no benefit.

01:45Right now, it's hard for us to comment on that. But you know what the House of Representatives

01:54is saying is we let the process flow. We, what do we need to say? The president already made a clear

02:02and unambiguous statement that he would not support an effort to impeach. It's distracting.

02:10We still have a lot to do. It's important for the country. That's how it should be.
