00:20Several lawmakers assured the impeachment complaint filed against Vice President Sara Duterte in the House of Representatives will undergo fair and due process.
00:32According to Tingog Partylist Rep. Jude Acite, under the Constitution, they are mandated to act on any impeachment complaint filed before the lower house so this move is in fulfillment of such duty under the law.
00:44Bataan 1st District Rep. Geraldine Roman echoed this statement.
00:49Rest assured that whatever processing, deliberations, they will be transparent and they will follow to the small letter.
01:00Due process will be followed.
01:03We need to give proper attention and attention to the issues that are important to the people today.
01:14But we also don't need to ignore the constitutionally mandated mandate of the Constitution in Congress, in the lower house, to act on impeachment complaints.
01:27Meanwhile, in a separate press conference, the Makabayan Black announced another impeachment complaint will be filed in the lower house against the Vice President within this week.
01:36According to Kabataan Partylist Rep. Raul Manuel, various people's organizations are in the forefront of this initiative and confident the complaint will move forward, even as some are saying it is already running out of time.
01:49Well, I think because it is still December 18, the last day of the session of the House of Representatives, I am optimistic that there is enough time and there is still time before the campaign period because the session of Congress will resume by January 13 after the holiday break.
02:16It means that there is still time for the senators to sit down on the impeachment complaint that will be forwarded by the House of Representatives, assuming that it will move forward.
