00:00For the filing of the latest one, there are now already three impeachment complaints filed against the second-highest official of the land.

00:08For the part of the lower house, its secretary-general assured their legal department will thoroughly study how to handle and process this complaint,

00:16especially since the legislative body is on its holiday break.

00:23House Secretary-General Reginald Velasco has formally received the third impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte filed in the lower house.

00:34Among the complainants are some groups of priests, lawyers, and other organizations.

00:39We believe VP Sara committed something illegal and something immoral against the Filipino people.

00:47For us, thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness.

00:54The complaint cited culpable violation of the constitution, betrayal of public trust, plunder and malversation, bribery, graft and corruption, and other high crimes as grounds for impeachment.

01:05According to Atty. Armando Virgil Gutan, legal counsel for the complainants,

01:09the complaint stemmed from hearings by the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability

01:14where the alleged anomalous use of confidential funds by the Vice President among other issues were uncovered.

01:20The disbursements were not properly done.

01:23The use of fictitious individuals.

01:28We have instances of the same individuals receiving money from the public but these individuals use different signatures.

01:38So the complainants believe that these disbursements were in fact illegal.

01:43Among those who endorsed the complaint were Camarines Sur Third District Representative Gabriel Bordado Jr. and Ambisoa Partylist Representative Lex Antoni Colada.

01:52Bordado said, this decision is not made lightly but with a deep sense of responsibility to ensure accountability at the highest levels of the government.

02:01For his part, House Secretary General Reginald Velasco assured their legal department would thoroughly review the new complaint just as they did with the previous two complaints.

02:10For now, since Congress is on recess, it remains to be seen when the complaints will move forward.
