00:00No, I am very excited and I am super grateful for him and the entire cast and crew of this
00:10film because I just feel like it's a director's medium and it's turned out really well and
00:17it's all thanks to him and Sejal sir and our PD and everyone in the crew because I feel
00:23like it's a team effort.
00:26So, I had this story for 5 years and it was actual real life experience but it was in
00:36a different context.
00:37It wasn't like it was in the context of killing someone so I modified it and I narrated this
00:42story to Hussain Dalal 5 years ago.
00:44He liked it a lot and he said, I will definitely write the screenplay and dialogues for this
00:49film.
00:50I want to play a character.
00:51He stayed there and then 5 years back, we thought let's do it and then I do advertising
01:01so I had seen Rakshit's test so I thought he would be good so we actually did some workshops
01:07online and everything.
01:08We saw he would fit the role because we wanted someone new and during that time, Lapaata
01:14Ladies and Maamla Legal Hai, we happened to see on OTT and we said that his opposing character
01:21should be Ravi Kishanji because people have seen Ravi Kishanji in a certain manner but
01:26what the script is portraying is him in a very different manner.
01:30So, we tried and reached out to him and he said to send the script and we sent the script
01:35and he liked it.
01:36So, he said I will be only able to accommodate you all sometime in September.
01:41We said it's worth the wait, let's do it and in the meantime, Rakshit was also gearing
01:45up, honing his skills and everything, getting the dialect right because that is very crucial
01:51and kudos to him because the thing is he has held his ground in front of Ravi Kishanji
01:58who has done so many movies and everything.
02:00This is his debut and if you see it, it's pound for pound.
02:04Both of them are fantastic and he has just held his ground.
02:12It felt really good.
02:13I think I am really lucky to have worked.
02:16I have learnt a lot.
02:17I think between takes also, he was giving me little nuggets of advice about how to use
02:24my eyes, where to look and stuff.
02:27So, I feel like those small things, they stay with you and it's my good fortune that I
02:32got to work with him and thanks to Andy sir that we got to make this film.
02:37Because this has been set in an Irani cafe and the most common and running item is bun
02:46mask and it captures the essence of Mumbai that whatever happens, no matter how serious
02:55the situation is, the next day Bombay is working and back on its feet.
03:00So, that was the whole gist of the idea also.
03:07USPA, we didn't even think about it.
03:10It was just a short film, it was a labour of love.
03:13I took favours from 30 years of advertising, all my friends, be it DOP Sejal Shah, production
03:20designer Durga Prasad.
03:21Everyone came together just and did it as a labour of love.
03:26So, USPA is that if anything can happen and you can do a great job and people put their
03:33hearts to it and there is a great intent to it.
03:37We are just figuring out where all we want to send it.
03:45So, we will make a comprehensive list and send it to festivals.
