00:00When the C295 aircraft of the Philippine Air Force was on board, Defense Secretary Gilbert Chudoro Jr. visited Lumia Air Base in Cagande, Oro.

00:10He was accompanied by AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Browner Jr.

00:14According to him, the development of the airbase is being accelerated and it is planned to be completed by 2026.

00:20We will pass the development here because the 15th Strike Wing needs to move here.

00:26This is the home of the 15th Strike Wing.

00:28It will be the maintenance base of the 15th Strike Wing.

00:32It will be the training base of the 15th Strike Wing.

00:36And their assets will be housed here.

00:40Aside from being the base of the 15th Strike Wing, an attack unit of the Air Force,

00:44it will also be the center of the disaster response of Northern Mindanao

00:48along with the proposed naval base in Tagoloan, Misamis, Oriental.

00:52One of the five original Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement or EDCA sites is also located in Lumia.

00:58It will serve as storage for the equipment and supplies of the American forces

01:02in case they need to help with the disaster response in the Philippines.

01:06There are things being done in the airbase as part of the EDCA.

01:10Like this, it will be part of the air traffic control that is being upgraded now.

01:14The EDCA site is also the runway.

01:16While it will be the Humanitarian Assistance Disaster Response of HADR Warehouse,

01:20it will be part of the land on the side of the runway.

01:23Although it is part of the EDCA site here in the Philippines,

01:26the Department of National Defense will clarify that it will remain owned by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

01:33Aside from the Lumia Airbase, the development of the eight EDCA sites is also underway.
