00:00Full time at MacDermott Park here where it's this, St Johnston 0, the Rangers 1.
00:06Not a game that will live long in the memory at MacDermott Park between the Glasgow sign
00:11and the Perth outfit on what was essentially a sleepy Sunday.
00:14Rangers got the job done though, a 63rd minute own goal from Jason Holt separating the two
00:19teams.
00:20He converted from close range into his own net under pressure from James Tavernier to
00:24play Yanis Hadji.
00:26Tavernier and Hadji, back in the starting line-up, Hadji making his first start for
00:30the Rangers since May 2013.
00:32He played pretty well, although did get booked for a dive late on.
00:35Tavernier was one of the start-up performers, very solid on the right-hand side and putting
00:39in his usual diligent shift I felt.
00:42St Johnston played some nice football but never really looked like scoring and he didn't
00:45get any change out of the Rangers back line.
00:47They're going to keep a Josh Raby, a number of good saves as he scored down in what was
00:53a good performance from him.
00:54The Saints look like they're going in the right direction under Simo Balacarri.
00:57For Rangers, given the exertions in Nice on Thursday night in the Europa League, they
01:02struggled to find the same intensity here in Perthshire.
01:06But ultimately it's job done for them, they finish off the week with two very important
01:10wins which gives Philip Clement some satisfaction I'm sure after last weekend's draw with Dundee
01:16United.
01:17It's not a game that will live long in the memory here in Perth.
01:20It finished St Johnston 0, the Rangers 1.
