00:00Our Sustainability Report for this year is a description of how the circular economy applied to the correct management of packaging represents a value for the entire national economy.
00:20And we did it starting for the first time with a study promoted together with European House Ambrosetti to quantify what is the economic impact on the entire national system of managing our packaging well.
00:36And as we know, Italian companies that use and produce packaging take care of the economic aspect of their correct management at the end of life by paying a contribution, which is called environmental contribution with AI.
00:49Well, this is the best investment that companies can make for our economy, as one euro of environmental contribution is worth 4.6 euros in the real economy.
00:59This is the main result and the main novelty that we bring today in our Integrated Sustainability Report.
01:08But of course, when we talk about the circular economy and when we talk about sustainability, our main task as with AI is precisely to guarantee the correct achievement of environmental goals,
01:21and therefore of what are the positive consequences for the environment of managing correctly through reuse and recycling the packaging that are used by our companies and by all of us in our daily lives.
01:34Well, we were able to calculate that in just 2023, thanks to the reuse and recycling of used packaging, it was possible to save an enormous amount of CO2,
01:46equal to what would be consumed to make 8,000 flights around the world.
01:52These are impressive numbers. If we also think about the fact that recycling also allows to reduce energy consumption,
01:59and therefore to make more efficient the processes in which the recycled material is also used instead of the primary material,
02:06we see that the energy saving that was generated in just 2023 is equal to that of the consumption of half of Italian families.
02:15So, really impressive numbers that once again show how a small piece of the mountain of waste,
02:22the packaging is only 8% of the total waste that is produced in a year in Italy, well, this small piece brings very important results.
02:32So, it is a message of purpose, also to ensure that the remaining 92% can contribute even more to the positive results that we are bringing and presenting today in the correct management of packaging.
