Deadpool & Wolverine: Explained Why Ghost Rider Was Cut From The Movie

Deadpool & Wolverine established itself as one of the biggest hits of 2024. The duo instantly became one of the most classic in the MCU.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds managed to convince Hugh Jackman to return to the role of Wolverine. And they both came to stay.

In addition, the film features several other special appearances. However, one absence felt by fans was that of Ghost Rider.

And in a new interview, Ryan Reynolds confirmed that he tried to bring Nicolas Cage to reprise the role of Ghost Rider in Deadpool & Wolverine. Apparently it just didn't happen for budget reasons. It seems that Cage's fee was more expensive than expected by the production.

“We tried to work something out with him, but it didn’t work out. I would love to have him in the film. As we wrote different versions of the script, that scene, everything changed. During pre-production, you start to think about the practical elements of how to make your film responsibly. We had a big budget, bigger than the other Deadpool films, but we still didn't want to spend all the money in the world, because imposing some kind of restriction on yourself stimulates creativity. If you have too much time, too much money, stop creating.”
