00:00The weather is looking a lot calmer on Tuesday now that storm Burt has gone and high pressure is building.
00:05But don't get too comfortable, for some it's going to turn very wet and windy once again on Wednesday.
00:11So for Tuesday, high pressure brings mostly fine and dry conditions for many inland areas of the UK,
00:16but coastal parts will experience some showers, especially across the windy north-east of Scotland,
00:21where they could turn wintry early on.
00:23There will also be a line of showers across southern Scotland into northern England,
00:26and a few showers along the south coast of England,
00:29but they should tend to fade later in the day.
00:31Temperatures will be around average for the time of year,
00:33and feeling pleasantly mild with light winds and sunshine.
00:36On Wednesday, however, a low pressure system approaches from the southwest
00:40and brings heavy rains and strong winds eastwards across much of England and Wales.
00:45The northern extent of it is still a little uncertain,
00:47but remember that rain falling on already saturated ground from storm Burt over the weekend
00:52could lead to further flooding issues.
00:54Winds will also be strong along the English Channel coastline,
00:57and later in the day, gales are possible around Lincolnshire, East Anglia and the southeast
01:01as that rain clears away into the evening.
01:03Meanwhile, northern parts of the UK, mostly fine and bright,
01:06but cloudy for northern Scotland with a few showers there.
