00:00France to me is a center of creativity in the whole world.
00:20France to me is where I studied and I lived and for one year it really became my home
00:24away from home.
00:31For me, as a young pastry chef when I moved to Paris, I had no idea about French pastry
00:44so really being a student in class and learning new things about what a madeleine is or what
00:49a financier is, I was lost.
00:51The way that a chef was treated like a craftsman, the first time I entered a pastry shop and
00:57I saw this beautiful display of dessert, it really felt like an artist had made it.
01:03So I think for me that attention to detail is really what stands out with everything
01:07that the French do.
01:12Paris Auteur Week and Paris Fashion Week, they are the most iconic platforms in the
01:19world for anybody to showcase.
01:21This is the ultimate platform.
01:23For me what is the most special is to be accepted on the Paris Auteur Week and for a beat to
01:29showcase as an Indian brand right next to Dior, Chanel, Valentino, brands that have
01:35been around for decades, sometimes centuries.
01:38It really puts not just our brand but it also puts India on the map.
01:51I did a three-month internship under Mr. Jean-Charles Rochoux who is a famous French chocolatier
01:57and I think for me it was really then that I understood the balance between being a chef
02:04and being a business owner and when I came back and the idea was oh I want to start my
02:08own patisserie.
02:09If you are going to study the culinary arts, there is no better place because you are really
02:17immersed in all that history of food and cuisine.
02:20I think France really offers this sense of creativity that I haven't witnessed anywhere
02:26else.
02:27I just feel there is so much to learn.
02:37France is truly obsessed with culture and art.
02:40It's where you see what is actually happening in high art, high fashion, high design, high
02:45architecture and it has some fantastic schools.
02:49I would suggest any young student going into any creative field to look at France today.
02:55It is affordable.
02:56I think the government and the agencies in France are being very helpful in facilitating
03:03post-study employment in France itself.
03:14The French culture has really opened up and become a very global cosmopolitan culture.
03:20It's almost like everybody is talking in English in France right now and there is no language
03:25problem altogether.
03:26I also believe the French embassy has set out programs for learning French in France
03:32while you are studying your own subjects.
