00:00Netaji's dominant emotion was his great love for his country and that superseded everything
00:08else.
00:09His loyalty towards his friends and towards his family, the concern for his own safety
00:17and he risked his life for India's freedom.
01:17Namaskar, I salute India and I pray for the Indian people during these trying times of
01:45a raging pandemic.
01:47124 years ago, one of India's most renowned sons, my father Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose
01:56was born in Qatar and the Indian national government and the state governments have
02:03decided to honour him during this oncoming 125th year after his birth.
02:11Thank you very much for this decision.
02:16Netaji was a man of thought and also of action and he envisaged for his country, a country
02:26which would be modern, enlightened and at the same time deeply rooted in her history,
02:36in her philosophy and her religious traditions.
02:43And he foresaw that there would be many challenges to be faced after attaining independence.
02:52Of course he had hoped to be a part of those people who would face them but unfortunately
02:58that was not to be.
03:00But all of us, we normal people, even if we cannot contribute as great things as the
03:09freedom fighters of those days did, can make our small contributions to the well-being
03:16of India, of the Indian citizens and the citizens of the world.
03:22Netaji was a very devout man.
03:25He was a devout Hindu but a Hindu very tolerant towards all other religions and he inspired
03:34his followers, the members of the INA and his friends and his family in these sentiments
03:46to respect other religions and yet be very religious himself.
03:53Netaji's dominant emotion was his great love for his country and that superseded everything
04:01else, his loyalty towards his friends and towards his family, the concern for his own
04:07safety and he risked his life for India's freedom.
04:15We all can hope to contribute something to our fellow men and women and I hope that we
04:23can all take an inspiration from Netaji's ideas and ideals and I salute you in these
04:30efforts.
04:31Jai Hind!
