00:00Police in Stockton, California are calling this a person of interest in an investigation into six
00:04murders in the area. Since July, five men have been shot and killed within a few square miles
00:09of one another. The killings have also been linked to two similar April 2021 shootings,
00:14one of which was fatal. You could probably very well call this serial killings, right?
00:20But at this time, we don't know if it's a person, two or three, we just don't know.
00:25Ballistics and available video footage link the seven cases to each other, according to police.
00:30The victims were all shot to death while they were alone during the late evening or early
00:34morning hours. None of the five Stockton victims were robbed or beaten, and the killings do not
00:39seem to be related to gang or drug activity, according to police. The Stockton police chief
00:44told reporters the motive remains unknown, but called the killings mission-oriented.
00:49Five of the murder victims were Hispanic men, and the sixth was a white man. A black woman
00:53was also shot, though she survived.
