Tallest, shortest woman meet for Guinness World Records Day

In celebration of Guinness World Records Day on Nov. 21, 2024, the tallest woman and shortest one had afternoon tea together in London on Nov. 19 and were honored by the record-breaking experts as icons. At 2 meters and 15.16cm (7ft 0.7) tall, Rumeysa Gelgi, a researcher from Turkey, towered over Jyoti Amge, an actor from India, who stands at just 62.8cm (24.7in). The height difference proved no barrier with the pair enjoying each other's company at the meet-up at the Savoy Hotel. Started in 2004, Guinness World Records Day encourages people around the world to try and set new records.
