00:00So this is the 2,492 carats stone.
00:13God is good.
00:15He's awesome.
00:17Change, change, change, change, change.
00:19Yes.
00:21Your Excellency, you can see this is the top.
00:24But there's some very clear spots.
00:27It's very, it's very peaky in the corner.
00:30You can see there's a rainbow there.
00:32So when the rainbow shows, there's been...
00:34I can, and I can see roads being built.
00:37Yes.
00:39You can see hospitals.
00:41Hospitals and everything else.
00:44Kids going to school.
00:46Yes, because it's extremely...
00:48The bigger one is, it's got a diamond.
00:50Yeah.
00:52No, you must show your teeth.
00:54So it doesn't look...
00:56Deputy Pierce, come.
00:58You mind this resource.
01:00Thanks.
01:02We've used a lot of the mineral wealth
01:04to create a lot of opportunities for Botswana.
01:06Right from schooling
01:08to employment creation
01:10to boosting of the economy
01:12through industrialization.
01:15Through the process of these diamond sales,
01:19it boosts economic activity.
01:21Boosting of the economic activity
01:23means a lot more people can then be involved
01:25and then there'll be circulation around.
01:27Which then impacts not just a few people,
01:30but a lot more.
01:32Because now all the other programs
01:34that the government has set out
01:36will actually reach a lot more people in Botswana.
01:39I mean, this is history in the making.
01:41This is 2,492 carats worth of diamonds
01:43that have been produced in Mother Earth.
01:45You're never going to get that.
01:47And the sentiments around it is that
01:49when we unearth the stone here or this diamond,
01:51there's beneficiation there coming through.
01:53Botswana benefits from these stones.
01:55None of us here can say we haven't benefited
01:57from the Botswana diamond.
01:59So for me, when I talk about 2,492 carats,
02:02I'm thinking of empowering Botswana,
02:04provenance, making sure that people understand
02:07what our diamonds actually do for Botswana.
