00:00The Himalasa Buhangin Festival in Ilocos Norte not only offered a celebration of music and culture,
00:05but also provided a meaningful way for attendees to give back to communities
00:09affected by recent typhoons. Philippine Information Agency, Ilocos Norte's Emma Guillermo has more.
00:17The Himalasa Buhangin Music and Arts Festival brought not only fun, but also helped raise
00:23donations for typhoon victims through a donation drive and a fundraising activity on November 16
00:29at the Paway Sand Dunes. The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office led the collection
00:35of food and non-food items at designated drop-off points in the province. On the day of the festival,
00:41the Social Welfare Office collected 40 kilos of rice, three boxes of instant noodles, and bags
00:47of clothing. Much of our profit, the little profit that we get especially from the merchandise and
00:56shirts, will go once again to our typhoon victim. We are cognizant of what's going on in our country.
01:06Nonetheless, we chose to continue Himalaya and luckily enough, we were in between typhoons. We
01:16are in between typhoons. May Himalaya talaga sa Buhangin. Various local bands and OPM singers
01:24including Sakta Budlo and Shanty Dope serenaded the audience. Moreover, actors Francine Diaz and
01:31Seth Fedelin and social media influencers Queendora, Fokerat, Ernalina, Pipay, and Christian Antolin
01:38entertained the viewers. There were also daytime activities such as 4x4 race, sandboarding,
01:45beach volleyball, kayaking, sandcastle making, and art installations by local artists to promote
01:52tourism in the province. From the Philippine Information Agency, Ilocos Norte, Emma Guillermo,
