00:00The International Monetary Fund, or IMF, reported global public debt is expected to surpass
00:06$100 trillion this year. The IMF's latest report predicts public debt worldwide will
00:12hit 93% of global gross domestic product, or GDP, by the end of the year and is set
00:18to come close to a 100% by the year 2030, exceeding its COVID-19 pandemic peak and rising
00:2510 percentage points from 2019. The report also revealed debt forecasts often fall short
00:32with actual debt-to-GDP ratios five years later, averaging 10% higher than initial estimates.
