00:00Welcome back to AccuWeather Ahead. If you're anything like me, you're already thinking about Thanksgiving one week away from today, and here's the overall setup of the forecast that we are tracking so far.
00:10It does look like we could see some snow flurries here across the northern plains, the Great Lakes, and portions of the northeast.
00:16Now, south of that, we could see some showers and storms here lining up along the Mississippi, even some strong thunderstorms here across parts of the Gulf Coast that we will be watching very carefully here as we head into next week.
00:27And if you're wondering, what are the top ten travel destinations there for Thanksgiving across the United States, and Florida takes the top three spots with Orlando, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale, or New York comes in fourth, Los Angeles rounds out the top five, but in addition to that, we also have Tampa, Honolulu, San Francisco, Vegas, Vegas Thanksgiving sounds interesting, and then Georgia cracks the top ten, so those are the top ten travel destinations.
00:51And if you are going to be out and about on the roads going to your Thanksgiving destination, here are the travel conditions on Tuesday. What you don't want to see on this map is yellow and red. Yellow means we could see some fair conditions, but whenever you start to see the reds, that's when you see some poor driving conditions and some possible airline delays in those areas.
01:10So here are the travel conditions on Wednesday, the busiest travel day of the year, and it does look like for portions of the Southern Plains into the Rockies, we're talking Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, portions of Colorado, and the Four Corners, we could see some poor conditions there traveling on that Wednesday.
01:28Now highs for your Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, pretty cold across the Northern Plains, and then we'll see some moderate conditions here for the Central and South, but here it is right there. Highs for Thanksgiving, 42 in Wichita, 55 in Dallas, 73 in Houston, so the farther north you go, it is going to feel like Thanksgiving. Black Friday temperatures are still going to be pretty mild with some cooler air up to the north.
