00:00Every week it seems like Deion Sanders sits up there and has to try to defend Travis Hunter's Heisman candidacy to everybody.
00:09This week it was defending his tackle numbers, which for a cornerback, as Deion's about to tell you, really don't matter all that much. Here he is.
00:18The latest thing that people have used to try to tear down Travis's Heisman campaign is his tackle numbers.
00:23Oh my God.
00:24I was curious if you could explain for those who don't know.
00:26How can you make tackles? First of all, if a cornerback has eight tackles in the game, do you guys know what that means?
00:32Anybody? That means they caught six balls. That's what that means.
00:36They caught six balls on him because two of those will probably run support, but that means he caught six balls.
00:41So if you see a corner with a lot of tackles, that's not a good sign.
00:44OK, so just those of you out there in the world of football, if you see a corner with a lot of tackles, they've caught a lot of balls on him.
00:53All right.
00:55He's right.
00:57There you go.
00:58He ain't wrong.
00:59He ain't wrong.
01:01It's pretty simple.
01:04Like, you don't want to have any tackles.
01:06That means that the guy he's covering ain't catching the football.
01:09That's right.
01:10So Prime's right about that.
01:13How about the guy that thought up the question?
01:16You know what, I'm going to come in with an angle today of what's wrong with Travis's tackle numbers.
01:22Well, but, like, I like also, Howie, because I guess this is how you got to do this with Deion now, these guys that cover him.
01:27Had to butter up Deion, too, because he's like, why don't you explain how that doesn't matter?
01:33Because Deion is such a great corner.
01:35He's a Hall of Fame cornerback.
01:37Why don't you explain why you don't want to have tackles as a corner?
01:41That's just that was the perfect runway for Deion to just run with that right there.
