00:00Great place to begin today. Congratulations to the all-time winningest coach in the history of college basketball, getting it done once again.
00:141,217 wins for Gino Auriemma. He is the all-time winningest coach at UConn.
00:2211 NCAA titles, 23 Final Four appearances, 28 conference regular season titles.
00:30It's just the incredible feat that he has pulled off being competitive, being good for so many years.
00:38A well-deserved honor being the number one of all time in terms of wins in college basketball.
00:44Auriemma talked after the game and said it's not that he never saw it coming, it's just surprising when you stack up all of the winning they had over the years.
00:53Yeah, I was saying this earlier that when something happens that you're not exactly planning for or expecting, you're more just surprised and you're kind of lost for words a lot of times.
01:20I know it means a lot to a lot of people, a lot of people here at UConn that worked really, really hard to make it possible.
01:30You saw all the players here, it means a lot to them.
01:36Every single person that had a hand in all this, it means a lot to them to be a part of it, to come back and want to share in it.
01:50And I'm sure when this season's over, I'll be able to look back on it and think about it and see where it all fits.
02:05We have practice tomorrow, so that's kind of where we are.
02:14Very understated Geno, needless to say.
02:16Always good to start off the show with some good news, but then of course we've got to go to the bad pretty quickly here.
02:21ESPN reporting that Luka Doncic is going to be out for an extended period of time.
02:25Another injury for Luka, this time it's a wrist injury.
02:29Dallas Mavericks superstar going to be off the court indefinitely.
02:32We'll get a timeline on this, I'm sure, later today.
02:35Meanwhile, what's the timeline for the Philadelphia 76ers to start winning some games?
02:40This season is fading away.
02:41They lose again yesterday.
02:431-11 was the amount of points they put up, not nearly enough against the Grizzlies.
02:481-17, 1-11 the final.
02:50They're 2-12 now on the season, in the game.
02:53Paul George, hyper-extended that same knee that he did in the preseason.
02:58We know that Joel Embiid has been on a pitch count, essentially, not playing in back-to-back games.
03:04Now they're going to be without Paul George.
03:06Maxey just coming back.
03:08Needless to say, Nick Nurse struggling for answers at the moment in Philadelphia.
03:14Yeah, I mean, listen, it's certainly not easy.
03:19You know, Tyrese just getting back and didn't really have a feel tonight.
03:25And Paul going out.
03:28Certainly not easy, but I still, I don't think we,
03:35we didn't put enough together again for 48.
03:40I thought, again, we just got kind of out-hustled, just out-athleted,
03:46out-toughed a little bit at the basket in the first half.
03:50Second half was obviously better as far as that.
03:54Just searching for lineups that would be able to go out there
03:58and play a little more physical and play a little bit, you know,
04:01play a little bit better together, et cetera.
04:04It was just a little bit too little too late for that.
04:09Sixers are going to start having to win some games quickly.
04:12You're going to start hearing some rumors about trading their players.
04:15Meanwhile, the Knicks put up 138 last night on the road.
04:18They go to Phoenix and win by 16, a big game for Jalen Brunson once again.
04:24All right, now let's move back to the Eastern Conference
04:27where the Cleveland Cavaliers, one loss to the Celtics doesn't stop them.
04:30They pick up a win last night, final 128 to 100.
04:33They blow out the Pelicans who are struggling just to field a team at the moment.
04:38The Thunder beat the Portland Trail Blazers 109 to 99.
04:43Chet Holmgren out of that one. Pacers lose again.
04:45They're six and nine. They lose to the Houston Rockets.
04:48The Clippers upset the Magic at home 104 to 93 as two and a half point underdogs.
04:54In Major League Baseball, the awards came out last night for American League
04:57and National League Cy Young. Pretty obvious.
05:00Tariq Scouble wins for the Detroit Tigers.
05:02Not a surprise there. Had a monster season leading them to the postseason.
05:06And over in the National League, a little bit closer,
05:08but Chris Sale wins the National League Cy Young for the Atlanta Braves
05:12in a great comeback season for him in his first season in Atlanta.
05:16Tonight, it is the Browns and Steelers on Thursday Night Football.
05:20Bad weather expected, so potentially could be a low total in this one.
05:24FanDuel has it at 36 and a half. Steelers, three and a half point road favorites.
05:29Meanwhile, Seattle Seahawks training center lost power as a storm hit the state yesterday,
05:34caused them to miss some time, some flashing lights.
05:36But of course, they'll be able to play this weekend.
05:38Will George Kittle play for the San Francisco 49ers?
05:41He says he's in playing against the Packers.
05:43Quote, I will be playing on Sunday. Very excited.
05:47Okay, we will see. Pro Football Hall of Fame is going to induct some new members.
05:51Eli Manning tops the list, 25 modern era candidates for 2025.
05:56Also, Antonio Gates is on that list, so is Jared Allen
05:59and a lot of other players who didn't get in previously.
06:01Over in college football action, Ohio Toledo, the final yesterday, 24 to 7.
06:07Ohio now having a great season, by the way, headed to a good bowl game here in December, January.
06:12Eight and three on the road, and they win.
06:14Buffalo easily handles Eastern Michigan on the road, 37 to 20.
06:18Tonight, it's a battle in the ACC.
06:20NC State takes on Georgia Tech.
06:22Jackets, eight and a half point favorites.
06:24And also, Jim McElwain from Central Michigan announces that he's going to retire after the season.
06:29Remember, he also coached the Florida Gators.
06:32In college basketball last night, one of the top teams in the country wins and covers.
06:36That's the Alabama Crimson Tide, eight and a half point home favorite against top-ranked Illinois.
06:43Wooden Award candidate Mark Sears didn't even score a point.
06:47They still put up 100.
06:48Alabama's offense considered one of the top-ranked teams in the country.
06:53Also, number three, Gonzaga ends up dismantling Long Beach State by a final of 84 to 41.
07:00Five Zags score in double digits.
