00:00Opening the LRT-1 Cavite Extension is a big help to the public.

00:04Aside from making the trip faster, the commuters can save on the fare.

00:09Bernard Ferrer of PTV has news for the country.

00:14After more than 2 hours of this trip,

00:17no one from Cavite will enter his school in Taft, Manila.

00:20That's why opening the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 is a big help to him.

00:24It's very easy and fast because I'm from Cavite.

00:30It's only 30 minutes and I don't have to be late to school.

00:35She can save P50 from the P100 she used to pay for her massage.

00:39Jareth's car was also reduced because of his direct trip

00:43from Quezon City to PITX in Parañaque.

00:46From Quezon City to Fifth Avenue,

00:49and then Fifth Avenue LRT Station to EDSA Taft,

00:54and then by carousel to PITX.

00:57But now, it's just Egypt until you say LRT Station,

01:02and then it's up to here.

01:03They hope that the LRT-1 Cavite Extension will be completed

01:07so that their trip will be faster.

01:10The LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 is the first railway project

01:14that was completed under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.

01:18through the Public-Private Partnership or PPP.

01:21It has 5 new stations, including the Redemptorist Asiana Station,

01:25Mia Road Station,

01:27PITX Station,

01:28Ninoy Aquino Avenue Station,

01:31and Dr. Santos Station.

01:33Tomorrow, we will expect a faster trip

01:36from Quezon City to Parañaque,

01:39and vice versa, in less than an hour.

01:41Phase 1 connects from Baclaran Station to Dr. Santos Station in Parañaque.

01:4680,000 passengers will benefit from this.

01:49In total, the LRT-1 will cover 26 kilometers.

01:54In 1984, President Ferdinand E. Marquez Jr.

01:58rented the LRT-1 UN Avenue Station from Baclaran Station.

02:02Aside from the LRT-1 Cavite Extension,

02:04there are other railway projects that are currently being completed by the government,

02:08including the Unified Grand Central Station,

02:11Metro Manila Subway Project,

02:12MRT-7,

02:13and North-South Commuter Railway.
