00:00My name's Alex Dale, I'm a County Councillor and Cabinet Member for Education at Derbyshire
00:07County Council and on behalf of the Local Area Partnership here in Derbyshire we fully
00:12accept the findings of the recent Ofsted inspection into our SEND services and I want to offer
00:18a profound apology to children and families who've been experiencing delays or missing
00:24educational provision and support that we need to be providing. We fully accept the
00:31findings and we recognise the improvements that Ofsted have told us we need to make and
00:36those are all areas that we've already been working on in recent years. We've put in a
00:42multi-million pound investment to increase our capacity, to improve processes, to invest
00:47in new technology and to build more special school places and we're absolutely committed
00:53to working with our partners, whether that's schools or the health services or social care
00:58or the private and voluntary sector to ensure that we really improve services within Derbyshire
01:05and that includes in particular working with parents and co-producing with parents. So
01:10we absolutely accept the findings, we are making improvements and we're absolutely committed
01:15to going even further and faster to improve our services.
