00:00Good morning, and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Change on its way through today, turning colder from the north, and that's thanks to this
00:08cold front sinking south through the rest of Saturday, introducing some cooler air across
00:12the UK to start the day on Sunday, before things turn a touch milder from the west again
00:18as a new frontal system arrives.
00:21But back to this morning.
00:22So this is the frontal system, the cold front draped across Central Park, the UK, sinking
00:26south as we head through, rain turning a touch lighter on that by the time we head in towards
00:30the afternoon, but quite a cloudy day for Wales and the far south of England through
00:36most of Saturday.
00:37Further north, though, cooler and brighter, but with some blustery showers, particularly
00:41on the north coast of Northern Ireland and across the northern parts of Scotland as well.
00:47Temperatures noticeably cooler here, eight or nine degrees for Northern Ireland and Scotland.
00:51Milder, though, across the south, perhaps up to 13 degrees across the far southwest.
00:56Heading through Saturday evening into the frontal system, sinking slowly southwards,
01:00giving quite a damp evening across much of the southern half of the UK of England.
01:05But we do start to see some cooler and fresher air moving in into the start of Sunday.
01:10Plenty of clear spells around, particularly along the east coast of England and Scotland,
01:14and temperatures will be noticeably cooler to start the day on Sunday.
01:18widespread frost across the far north of Scotland, northern England, and there will
01:22be some frost and perhaps fog patches across southern parts of England and Wales as well.
01:28So a cool and bright start to the day on Sunday across eastern parts.
01:32But we do start to see a new frontal system arriving from the west through Sunday morning,
01:38giving quite a grey and damp start to Northern Ireland and steadily moving eastwards as we
01:43head in towards Sunday afternoon.
01:44So as that mild air pushes into the cool air across parts of Scotland, we could just
01:49see some of that turning to snow over the high ground.
01:52But further south, it's going to be still quite mild, 11 or 12 degrees across the southwest,
01:57single figures down the east coast of the UK.
02:00And it will be turning quite wet and breezy across the far north of Northern Ireland too.
02:07But as we head through the rest of Sunday, so we do have some warnings in force for some
02:11snow.
02:12Especially for parts of northern Scotland for snow showers and some ice in the mix.
02:17And then the next major feature is this low pressure moving in on Monday morning and where
02:21we see that cool air meeting the mild air, there is a chance of some disruptive snow,
02:26particularly over parts of the Pennines.
02:27So we have a warning in force for that.
02:30If you want to keep on top of that snow warning, please do have a look at our YouTube channel.
