00:00We have also increased the protection of social security in Pekeso with an additional benefit of more than 20% to 1.5 million workers in Malaysia.
00:15On June 1, this year, Kesuma has strengthened the OSH Act, which has been put on hold for so long,
00:24to improve the safety at work.
00:27As I said earlier, after every day of work, I don't want to visit the homes of the victims,
00:34the children, the wife, the husband, the mother, the father, who have passed away at work.
00:40I don't want this to happen.
00:42I want that after every day of work, our workers can return home safely.
00:50So, we have strengthened the OSH Act.
00:53One of the most important things is Section 26A, which gives workers the right to resign.
01:01Before this, there was no such thing.
01:03Resigning from the risk of being at work.
01:06And the employer cannot take action if the worker wants to resign from the risk of being at work.
01:13This is what we have done on June 1.
01:16After being put on hold for 2-3 years,
01:19on the 14th of October last year,
01:24we have abolished the 20 years of unfair treatment
01:31by amending the Buro Sabah Ordinance,
01:34giving equal rights and protections to more than 2 million workers,
01:40our colleagues in Sabah,
01:41so that it is equal to the number of workers in Malaysia.
01:46With the support of my fellow colleagues,
01:52I, at the end of this year's session,
01:56will amend the Buro Sarawak Ordinance
02:00so that after this,
02:02all the workers in Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak,
02:06have equal rights and protections.
02:08I am also trying to bring in a new RUU,
02:13which is the RUU for gig workers,
02:16which will defend the fate of our gig workers,
02:20who have been put on hold for a long time.
02:24They are not protected under the employment contract,
02:26but they are also workers,
02:28just like us.
02:29Do you agree or not?
02:31There are people out there.
02:33So we will bring in a RUU
02:35which is able to protect their rights.
02:39Recently, there has been good news for the private sector.
02:43The PM, in the 2025 budget,
02:46has announced an increase in the minimum wage,
02:50which will strengthen power in the coming year.
02:54On 15 September,
02:56I signed an agreement to strengthen the new employment agreement,
03:01to strengthen the employment agreement.
03:04We want to facilitate the growth of the union.
03:07We want to reduce the government sanctions.
03:10We want to give workers the right to be more active in the union,
03:15in order to give greater power to the workers in Malaysia.
03:21We are strong because of the union.
03:23We are strong because of the union.
03:27We are strong because of the union.
03:29Do you agree or not?
03:31We are strong because of the union.
03:34So, we must strengthen it.
