00:00Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad expressed his sadness over the departure of Daim Zainuddin,
00:08the Finance Minister, twice during his administration.
00:12Describing Daim as a comrade who fought for the nation, country and religion,
00:18Mahathir said the economic figure should be praised for his contribution to the country.
00:24However, he said in a statement, Daim at the end of his life was humiliated for no reason,
00:29and asked if it was because of revenge.
00:32The former MP said he could only pray that Daim is judged on the basis of justice.
00:40Earlier this year, Daim and his wife Naima Khalid were sued in court
00:44for failing to comply with the terms of the property declaration notice
00:48issued under Section 36 Kedua Akta Suruhanjaya Penjagaan Rasuah Malaysia 2009.
00:55He was accused of not declaring property including several luxury cars,
01:00companies and real estate around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Perak and Kedah.
