00:00The former police colonel, Roina Garma, was out of the country but was prevented from going to the airport in America
00:06when the Duterte administration first revealed the reward system for the war against drugs.
00:13The case of Roina Garma being sent back to the Philippines is now being investigated
00:17and when that happens, the Justice Department will appoint her as a state witness.
00:23Tina Panganiban Perez was with us.
00:25The Department of Interior and Local Government has now announced that the former police colonel, Roina Garma, was out of the country.
00:36According to DILC Secretary John V. Cremulia, Garma and her son were prevented from going to the San Francisco airport in America
00:44because their U.S. visa was cancelled.
00:48She took PR-104 last Sunday here.
00:56PR-104. She arrived in the U.S. in San Francisco.
01:00She didn't have a hold departure order.
01:03She's not been charged with a crime so she can leave the country with her daughter.
01:09It's unclear how Garma was able to fly to America even though her U.S. visa was cancelled.
01:16Apparently, in the course of the hearings of the Senate, her visa was cancelled.
01:21So she went to America by chance.
01:25The U.S. INS flagged her.
01:28They detained her and we're there in the process of being sent home here.
01:32The Bureau of Immigration is now arranging their return to the country.
01:37According to DOJ Secretary Crispin Remulia, it's time for Garma to return to the country.
01:43They will appoint her as a state witness.
01:45We intend to offer her witness protection for that matter.
01:49At least for the matters that the Quadcom is seeking from her.
01:54And of course, there are other things that we are conducting.
01:57The purpose of the case build-up is to make sure that those cases that we file are strong cases.
02:03She may be part of it in one way or the other.
02:06There's no case against her. She can go home.
02:10She can, but we will offer her protection.
02:13Garma will be held accountable to the House Quad Committee
02:17for first giving evidence to the police about the war on drugs of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
02:24A hearing of the Quadcom was scheduled for tomorrow,
02:27but it was postponed because some witnesses are still confirming some things.
02:34But last night, the former presidential spokesperson of Duterte said
02:38that the former president will attend the hearing tomorrow.
02:42And when it was canceled,
02:44Panelo said that Duterte will still go to the camera tomorrow
02:49to confront the Quadcom about the postponement of the hearing
02:53when they are not being abused.
02:56The former president wanted the judges to schedule a 10-day marathon hearing.
03:02But the Quadcom said that they are not receiving any confirmation
03:07that Duterte should attend the hearing tomorrow.
03:10Their first invitations were all snubbed by Duterte.
03:15We're supposed to have a November 13 hearing, but we decided to cancel it yesterday.
03:22Now they will say that he will attend. What is this, brother?
03:25It's also not true that they are not being abused in Duterte's camp
03:30because the Quadcom sent a letter to him saying that the hearing will be postponed tomorrow.
03:36Last night, a person from Duterte's camp messaged the Quadcom
03:41to say that they received the notice and Duterte wants to confirm
03:45if the hearing was really canceled.
03:48Only the congressmen found out through social media
03:51that Duterte plans to confront the Quadcom tomorrow.
03:55Why would they get confirmation through our social media?
03:58I mean, we are the ones who are officially writing.
04:02We don't announce it through social media that we are inviting the former president.
04:08I think they did it on purpose.
04:10Because this was already discussed on Sunday.
04:15That's their style, right?
04:20To make it appear that we are backing this kind of invitation.
04:27According to the Quadcom, they cannot continue the hearing tomorrow
04:31only for the former president Duterte because he is not the only one invited to speak.
04:37Another thing, the camera has a three-day rule
04:40where everyone who attends a hearing must be absent for three days before it is postponed.
