00:00Over the summer, the Stade de France was at the centre of joyous celebrations during the
00:04Olympics and Paralympics. But France's national stadium is preparing itself for a very different
00:09atmosphere this week, as it hosts France versus Israel in the UEFA Nations League. The football
00:14game has been categorised as a high-risk event by the Paris police chief. Many locals living
00:20around the stadium are on edge.
00:22We have electromagnetic doors which will remain closed all day for people's safety.
00:29We've also put up signs warning people not to go out in the street too much.
00:35Four thousand police officers will be deployed around the stadium, in the French capital
00:39and on public transport. But the extra security hasn't reassured this shopkeeper. She usually
00:45welcomes big sports events for the extra business. But like many others in the area, she'll be
00:49shutting up shop early on Thursday.
00:52I'm scared too. Maybe I'll close early, 2, 3pm. It's normal, we've seen what happened
00:58in Amsterdam.
01:00Nerves are high after violence broke out after a Europa League game between Ajax and Maccabi
01:05Tel Aviv in Amsterdam last week. Israel's National Security Council has told citizens
01:10abroad to avoid sports and cultural events. France's interior ministry has said that the
01:15France-Israel match will go ahead as planned, with strict security measures. French President
01:20Emmanuel Macron will be attending.
01:22Though the Stade de France is expecting only between 15,000 to 20,000 fans, a record low
01:28attendance.
