00:00as we look at the Heisman
00:07Trophy odds board entering this second weekend in November.
00:09We welcome you back to college football today live right here
00:11on SportsGrid for the second Saturday in November. We had
00:15this conversation earlier with a focus on Colorado's Travis
00:19Hunter, but we also now talk about the co-favorite entering
00:23Week 11 Joe and that is Cam Ward both at a plus 185 price.
00:28Cam Ward two weeks ago against Florida State in the rivalry
00:31game. The only time this season he has thrown for less than
00:34three bills 208 and did not record multiple touchdown
00:38passes. He had zero. How did he respond last week against Duke
00:42in a tight game for the Canes in that second half 400 yards in
00:47five touchdown tosses. It is why Cam Ward is a co-favorite to
00:51strike the pose in December. Yeah, think about what he's done
00:54this year 29 touchdowns six interceptions over 3100 passing
00:58yards. Miami has their swag back in response to this matchup
01:03this coming weekend against Georgia Tech. They're
01:06undefeated. They have everything in front of them. And again,
01:08if you take Cam Ward out of that lineup, they are completely a
01:12different ball club. They they do are not undefeated and he's
01:16a main reason why so definitely deserving. I think what's
01:20interesting when we just look at the Heisman picture in terms
01:23of, you know, who because the last four weeks we've seen, you
01:26know, years Devante Smith, Joe Burrow, just come on could
01:29Jackson door. I'm thrown out could Jackson dart if he just
01:32throws for 400 today and runs it and runs the table. Can
01:36anybody steal it from both of those guys over the last four
01:39weeks five weeks? Yeah, I think Jackson dart statistically
01:43meets the requirement, right? Nobody has more passing yards.
01:47Nobody actually has a better college quarterback passer
01:50rating this season. I mean, he threw I saw the stat. He was
01:54the he's the second SEC quarterback to throw for 500
01:57yards and I think six touchdowns in a game. Yeah, the other was
02:00actually true lock, but it was the only one to do it against
02:02an SEC team. Yeah, Jackson dart. So, you know, you can kind of
02:06call it Arkansas if you want. Here's kind of the thing though
02:09Joe all of Jackson darts. Worst games are against his best
02:13teams. No, your worst game by far this year. Not even close
02:16LSU last season two of his three worst games, Bam and
02:20Georgia. So it goes into the reason why I'm not on him or
02:25I'm not on Ole Miss today is I don't see any world. He goes
02:28out there and throws for 404 because that's kind of my thing
02:32with that game and I know it ties into the Heisman. There's
02:35just no evidence that he or Ole Miss are capable of stepping up
02:40which is why I bring it up because if he does what you know
02:44the unthinkable is is all of a sudden now he goes from where
02:48he is right now to maybe, you know, third or fourth and he's
02:52maybe battling it out with Gente in that situation. So just to
02:55say he was one of my Heisman looks entering this season. I
02:58think on that summer CFT special. I highlighted a 12 to
03:02or 16 to one price on Jackson dart because you know, the
03:05numbers are always going to be there. Jackson dart currently
03:08leads all of FBS college football and passing yards at
03:113,210. Last week again, 25 of 31, 515 yards, six touchdowns
03:18against Arkansas. As many touchdown throws as in
03:22completions. It was also Ole Miss's leading rusher with 47
03:26yards on the ground but to Kev's point and I think a huge
03:29opportunity or perhaps blemish on the Heisman resume depending
03:33on the result today against Georgia because I bet Ole Miss
03:37to win the SEC before this year got underway. If they lose
03:41today against Georgia, not only are their college football
03:43playoff hopes most mostly diminished, if not all gone,
03:47they are not and still have a very difficult path to being in
03:50that SEC championship game. A third conference loss today
03:54puts that to bed. So I think that part though Ben, so let's
03:56say they get the win, right? So is it 20 to one Joe that number
03:59will get cut at at least in the half. Yeah, even if you like
04:02plays middling, right? 250 and two right in a pick. I think
04:07the number would still go because his overall season's
04:09been so good. The problem is I don't think there's any world
04:13that Gabriel and Ward aren't playing in their conference
04:16championship games and it'll get very out of sight out of
04:19mind that that's why I again, I know we're opening the door
04:23here. Jaden Daniels never wins the Heisman trophy under
04:27this year's format. He just doesn't because everybody else
04:31is playing in conference championship games and he had
04:34three losses and wouldn't have even made the playoff under
04:36last year's format. I don't think Jackson Dart is as the
04:41if there's two other quarterbacks both playing in
04:44the conference championship game. I think he would need
04:46Miami and Oregon to lose in the conference championship. It's
04:50possible and then the other thing too is and I bring it up
04:53because we've seen players steal it in the last four weeks,
04:56right? Yeah, he plays Georgia, Florida mistake. If he played
04:59Georgia, Tennessee, or an LSU down the stretch and dominates
05:04Georgia today, then you say, hey, he's got two other big
05:07games where he can, you know, top twenty-five, top ten
05:10opponents. He could just boat race them if that's possible.
05:13He could potentially be there with Cam Roar. That that was
05:16the only reason why I brought it up is from a value
05:18perspective. Yeah. Right now, it's Cam Ward and and maybe you
05:21can make the argument of should should Travis Hunter or Cam
05:25Ward drop off.
05:29Yeah.
