00:0030-year-old Mohamed El-Loh is busy building and equipping his modest canvas tent in the
00:05city of Deir el-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, which will be his new home.
00:10Mohamed, one of the young Palestinians who decided to go ahead with their wedding plans
00:15and celebrate a new beginning despite the difficult and exceptional circumstances, told
00:20CGTN that he was tired of waiting.
00:24The war lasted for more than a year, and we usually have a short engagement period of
00:28three to six months.
00:30So I decided that the wedding would take place despite the difficult circumstances we are
00:34living in.
00:35Thank God that I was able to get a tent, and I have equipped it with the necessary equipment
00:41in an attempt to create joy despite the circumstances that surround us.
00:45In a rare moment of joy in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip, Mohamed's family and friends gathered
00:51in a simple dance ceremony, bringing joy to the displaced people around them.
00:58We don't know when the war will stop, so we decided to get married in the middle of
01:02the war, despite the difficult conditions and the deplorable conditions of the people
01:06here.
01:07We wanted to take away the sadness and make way for a little joy.
01:13Charities have funded a wedding ceremony for 15 displaced Palestinian groups and a prize
01:18at the Displaced Persons Camp in Deir el-Balah city.
01:21They set up tents for just married couples to help them start their new lives.
01:27Through this camp, 15 new Palestinian families have been established in light of this grinding
01:31war and the deteriorating economic situation, where young people do not find their daily
01:35sustenance as well as they do not find shelter and nothing to complete their marriage with.
01:40The Palestinian Bureau of Statistics indicates that in the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip,
01:45more than 40,000 Palestinians were killed, 24% of whom were young people.
01:51The population growth rate decreased by about 2.7% in the Gaza Strip, affecting the age
01:57and qualitative composition of the population.
02:00Defying the difficult circumstances created by the ongoing war, Gazans are recreating
02:05ways of hope by setting up special tents for those about to get married.
