00:00Sabah Barisan Nasional is unlikely to win the upcoming state election on its own, says a political analyst.
00:09Bill Cherbala of University Malaysia Sabah said the BN brand has become outdated and requires transformation through collaboration with other parties to succeed in the polls.
00:20He said the current political trend leans toward coalition-based transformation and suggested that BN consider adopting a new coalition formula.
00:30Yesterday, Sabah BN Chairman Bumukhtar Radin said the coalition is prepared to contest solo in the upcoming state polls if it cannot reach an agreement with other parties to cooperate.
00:41Tony Paridipagang of University Technology Mara Sabah believes that multi-quartered contests in the state polls would showcase Sabah's thriving democracy.
00:52He predicted that other parties might also choose to contest solo, not just BN.
00:57He added that going solo would give each party or coalition the chance to test its strength independently.
