00:00Half-mast to the flags in all facilities of the government today,
00:04in accordance with the declaration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on November 4
00:10as National Day of Mourning to all the victims of Hurricane Christine.
00:14Meanwhile, the government continues to distribute aid to the victims of the hurricane.
00:19This is Glazer Pardilian of PTV in Balitang Pambansa.
00:24President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. declared November 4 as National Day of Mourning.
00:34This is a day of mourning for the families of the victims of Hurricane Christine.
00:40As stated in Proclamation No. 728,
00:43the Philippines will raise the flag in half-mast from dawn to sunset
00:50to all the government buildings and facilities inside and outside the country on Monday.
00:56In accordance with the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines,
00:59this is done as a sign of condolence for the tragedy.
01:03President Ferdinand R. Marcos encouraged the Filipinos to pray
01:08for the victims of Hurricane Christine.
01:11Of the 1,788,630 families,
01:16or 7,033,922 individuals affected by Hurricane Christine,
01:22139 died.
01:25Even though times are getting better,
01:27the Department of Social Welfare and Development continues to provide assistance
01:32to the places that are recovering from the effects of Hurricane Christine.
01:363,400 boxes of Family Food Packs were sent to Barangay Bogtong in Legazpes City, Albay
01:43where Hurricane Christine washed ashore.
01:46More than a million boxes of Family Food Packs were distributed by the DSWD
01:51to the victims of Hurricane Christine.
01:55To help our countrymen who lost their homes to rebuild their homes,
02:023.2 million pesos of financial assistance was provided by the DSWD
02:08under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis situation.
02:13More than a billion pesos of assistance was distributed by the DSWD,
02:18Office of the Civil Defense, local governments, and other groups to the victims of Hurricane Christine.
02:25This was made possible in accordance with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s order
02:30The Whole-of-Government Approach, or joining forces of government agencies
02:35to speed up and be more effective in helping those affected by the calamity.
02:41Using the land, air, and naval assets of the government,
02:4458 humanitarian sorties were carried out in Nagas City, Bicol, and Batangas
02:50by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Multinational Coordinating Center,
02:55and Civil-Military Coordinating Center.
02:58The road construction, the removal of barrages,
03:02and the cleaning of roads and other roads were carried out by the DPWH.
03:08More than 540 million pesos of free food, medicine for animals, and other farm inputs
03:16were distributed by the Department of Agriculture to farmers and fishermen affected by the hurricane.
03:22Aside from the 500 million pesos of loans from the Agricultural Credit Policy Council
03:28and the 1 billion pesos of the Quick Response Fund for the rehabilitation of facilities of agencies
03:34that were damaged by the bad weather.
