00:00:00It just felt like the other day, 20 weeks ago, yeah, when we rocked up and we met everyone
00:00:26and it was just like a dust storm.
00:00:50It's hard to believe three months ago we were sleeping in a tent,
00:00:54and now we're sleeping in a multi-million dollar mansion.
00:00:59Yep, that's right. These five houses are almost complete,
00:01:04but it hasn't been without its challenges.
00:01:06The block is the hardest thing we've ever done.
00:01:09You don't realise how hard it is until you're actually on the block.
00:01:12It is so mentally and physically taxing.
00:01:15It's not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.
00:01:17If you have a crack in yourself, in your relationship, the block will bring that out.
00:01:28What happened on Saturday night?
00:01:31Things that made me feel very unhappy.
00:01:34I was at Kylie and Brad's house, hanging out drinking,
00:01:38we were just chatting and then Kylie went to sleep.
00:01:42I was flirting with Mimi.
00:01:44Go get the wine and some cups, let's do this.
00:01:49Said some pretty inappropriate comments.
00:01:52Kylie overheard, very understandable, she's quite upset.
00:01:56Oh, like Brad's like, oh, you know I'd follow your OnlyFans.
00:01:59I can't be on national television having my marriage breaking down.
00:02:05I'm going home.
00:02:07I've spoken to Kylie, she's still upset, but she is going to come back.
00:02:13Have you guys spoken?
00:02:16Not a word.
00:02:18So the aim is just to come here and get this done?
00:02:21Yeah.
00:02:22I'm here to make sure that you're comfortable with what happened.
00:02:27Yeah, I'm honestly fine, just want them to be okay.
00:02:30You guys were just talking.
00:02:33Yeah.
00:02:33Tonight, our blockheads race to finish their houses
00:02:45as Front Yard and Garage Week comes to an end.
00:02:48There is people and vehicles everywhere.
00:02:50It's manic.
00:02:51And the stakes couldn't be higher.
00:02:53There's a car up for grabs.
00:02:55You want the Mustang?
00:02:56I want the Mustang.
00:02:57Everyone wants the Mustang.
00:02:59The judges have their final say on the houses before auction.
00:03:03This is a dream entry.
00:03:06Oh, I love this so much.
00:03:08This is impressive.
00:03:10For one team, the feedback is hard to hear.
00:03:13It's not a lot here, guys.
00:03:14All right, let's wrap it up.
00:03:16What's that?
00:03:16I said wrap it up.
00:03:17Kylie, I'm not going to wrap it up.
00:03:18It's almost like they've checked out.
00:03:21I'm leaving.
00:03:27He is wrecking it barefoot down the middle of the road.
00:03:29He needs to just really harden down.
00:03:34This is the end.
00:03:42Beautiful crowd.
00:03:48This is the end.
00:03:52It seems like it was only a short while ago
00:03:54that our teams kicked off their build on Phillip Island.
00:03:58But in fact, it's been 85 days of putting in the hard yakka
00:04:02to transform their dream holiday homes into reality.
00:04:06And today marks the final day for our teams to complete their houses
00:04:10before they move on to the clubhouse next week.
00:04:13It feels very weird today
00:04:15because it's the last day we're working on the house.
00:04:18Obviously, we'll do a little bit next week, like put it around.
00:04:20But this is like the last time I'm actually working on it.
00:04:24So it's us.
00:04:29Well, lads, how are we?
00:04:31What's going on?
00:04:32Hey, last day, boys.
00:04:36Dan, we figured if we don't get up for it, it's not our last day.
00:04:39Is that going to work?
00:04:42Not really, no.
00:04:43No?
00:04:44There goes your alarm again.
00:04:45Last space.
00:04:47It's bittersweet.
00:04:49Sweeter than we've built an amazing house.
00:04:51The bitter that we have to leave because we're having a great time.
00:04:54My people.
00:04:55Hello, Ricky.
00:04:57We've got a ton to do.
00:04:58It feels like it's going to be impossible,
00:05:00but we really want that Mustang.
00:05:02So we're going to give it everything we've got.
00:05:04We're going to empty the tank.
00:05:05Yes, folks, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is up for grabs.
00:05:09And everybody wants her.
00:05:11All I ever said to my mum from the minute I came on the block
00:05:14was I'm going to win her that car.
00:05:16Every time I'm sore and I'm trying to push through,
00:05:18I'm saying Mustang, Mustang, Mustang.
00:05:23At first, you're going to have to compete with your best buds,
00:05:26Courtney and Grant, and their budding nursery.
00:05:29What do you think?
00:05:30Grant wants to get more plants.
00:05:31Two trees.
00:05:32Can you tell him to settle down?
00:05:36Grant wants to create a jungle.
00:05:37Never enough plants.
00:05:38Like it's full.
00:05:40It's full.
00:05:40I think we're a bit bare.
00:05:41I think two more trees.
00:05:42If Grant's plant market.
00:05:45After scoring two consecutive room reveal wins
00:05:47and two tens worth 10 grand each,
00:05:50Courtney and Grant are cashed up
00:05:51and hoping to make the most of their prize money this week
00:05:55with, yes, a lot of plants across their huge 379 square metre front yard.
00:06:01And they plan to use some of said plants
00:06:04to frame three architectural arbours from Blue Crock.
00:06:07Bigger than I thought.
00:06:08They look great.
00:06:09Very excited.
00:06:10Very excited, yeah.
00:06:12They'll also have a feature olive tree at the centre of the yard
00:06:15and will continue the arbour theme outside the bedroom patio,
00:06:19which Grant is going to build himself.
00:06:21Looking good, though.
00:06:23Yeah, look, we don't have the entertaining spaces in the front like some others do.
00:06:27So we just focused on street appeal and that's it.
00:06:30Your Mustang.
00:06:31You want the Mustang?
00:06:32I want the Mustang.
00:06:32Everyone wants the Mustang.
00:06:33Who doesn't want a muscle Mustang?
00:06:35Plan is to drive out of here tomorrow in a Mackay.
00:06:38From the Habs in house two to the Habnods in house one.
00:06:43Are you going to win a car?
00:06:44You know, probably not.
00:06:45Yes, we're going to win the car.
00:06:46Have you seen how many plants are next door?
00:06:48But that doesn't mean anything.
00:06:49The judges might be like, that's a terrible idea.
00:06:52It looks stunning.
00:06:53Because low maintenance holiday home.
00:06:57I've got the biggest thing on the block.
00:06:59Are you alright?
00:07:00Yeah.
00:07:00We're proud of what we're going to put forward and like it's going to be a beautiful garden.
00:07:04But at the same time, we're fully aware that we're not going to be a showstopper
00:07:08because we're competing with people who have four or five times the amount of money that we have.
00:07:14Yeah, it's just a very simple yard.
00:07:17And by simple, they mean a curved path in French patterned tiles,
00:07:21some budget friendly plants and a lot of lawn.
00:07:25Simple and easy to maintain.
00:07:28We've got an electric little robot mower.
00:07:31You don't even have to maintain it.
00:07:33No gardener.
00:07:33Easy.
00:07:34That's what you want in a holiday house.
00:07:35While the girls design is pared back, they still have a lot left to do.
00:07:40Today we need to finish the garden bed,
00:07:44plant the plant.
00:07:45We need to finish off the decks,
00:07:47go near the decks.
00:07:49We need the house to be painted.
00:07:53Style the garage.
00:07:54I also have a stand for it.
00:07:55Install the wallpaper.
00:07:56Graphicos.
00:07:57Sweep, clean, everything.
00:07:59Everything needs to be done today, basically.
00:08:02Everything, including getting the turf laid.
00:08:05Cue delivery from Lillydale.
00:08:18Morning gang, how are we?
00:08:23Good, Dan, how are you?
00:08:24Last official day for the house.
00:08:27How exciting.
00:08:30Yes.
00:08:31Then there's only one short week up there.
00:08:34So it's good.
00:08:36Yeah.
00:08:37What's that?
00:08:38Good as gold.
00:08:39Good as gold.
00:08:40What's the plan today?
00:08:41Just planting, planting and spraying.
00:08:44Working across 320 square metres,
00:08:47Kylie and Brad have one of the biggest footprints to deliver this week,
00:08:51including what's left of their front yard,
00:08:53garage, side passage, barbecue area and the tennis court entry deck.
00:08:59Our front yard is now pretty much the right around to the tennis court entry deck.
00:09:08So it's quite a large space,
00:09:10but our main entertaining area is in that front area.
00:09:15So adjacent to the pool that they delivered last week,
00:09:18Kylie and Brad's entertaining deck will feature an eight seater table,
00:09:22comfy chill space and a custom barbecue area.
00:09:26Just this bench top here, mate.
00:09:28But unfortunately, there's been a hold up with the stone for the barbecue bench.
00:09:32We ordered some stone to clad it so it matches sort of the deck ton inside.
00:09:38And unfortunately, we haven't been able to secure the product in time.
00:09:41So it's an unfortunate finish,
00:09:44but I'd rather finish it properly than try and bandaid it with something else.
00:09:50So with everything stacked against them,
00:09:53even their budget, Kylie and Brad's hopes of driving out in a Mustang tomorrow are fading.
00:09:59We couldn't buy any feature, like there's no wow factor.
00:10:02There's literally no wow factor.
00:10:04Yeah, it's very...
00:10:07This is what it is.
00:10:08Thanks to their multiple challenge wins,
00:10:12one team who can afford a bit of wow this week is Ricky and Hayden.
00:10:16The palm tree's in.
00:10:18Looks amazing, like even at the top of the block, you can see it straight away.
00:10:21Yeah, how good is it?
00:10:22Yeah.
00:10:22Today, me and Hayden have still only won the Rumpus.
00:10:25Like, yeah, OK, we're Challenge Kings, but you know, we're here to renovate.
00:10:28We want to be known for the work that we did here.
00:10:31We're really desperate to get a big win.
00:10:34Remaining spaces left for the boys to finish this week
00:10:37include their back deck, side passage, garage and what's left of their front yard,
00:10:43which along with their wow palm tree will feature a path made from railway sleepers
00:10:48and they have a little something special planned for the garage door.
00:10:53So this is like a big wow factor.
00:10:55Yep.
00:10:55Wait until they see your garage door going.
00:10:57That's loud.
00:10:58The garage door doesn't have to be just a garage door.
00:11:00No.
00:11:01Make it a statement piece.
00:11:02Yeah.
00:11:03The door is here.
00:11:05My boys.
00:11:06Can I ask you, has there ever been a door like this?
00:11:08No one's done this colour on a garage door.
00:11:10So you're saying that not only is this a block first, but this could be...
00:11:13Is this a world first?
00:11:14This is a world first.
00:11:15Let's have a sneak peek.
00:11:17There we go.
00:11:19There it is.
00:11:20Oh, there's a cloud.
00:11:22And he's landing here.
00:11:24Wow.
00:11:24Holy moly.
00:11:27That's the sound of fun, Dan.
00:11:30Strangely, I like it.
00:11:31Yeah.
00:11:32Not sure how the judges will like it.
00:11:35But I think it's a statement piece and it represents our emotion in our house.
00:11:40It is the fun factory.
00:11:42The factory of fun.
00:11:45This is a Barbie dream house.
00:11:47He comes with it.
00:11:48Hi Barbie.
00:11:49Hi Ken.
00:11:49You want to go for a ride?
00:11:51Sure.
00:11:52Ken.
00:11:53Hey Ken.
00:11:53Ken.
00:11:54There he is.
00:11:55There's Ken.
00:11:57The boys' garage door is so pink.
00:11:59I didn't realise it was like bright pink.
00:12:02It's fantastic.
00:12:03Bit of wealth coming out of this end of the block.
00:12:06Brunch, what do you reckon, mate?
00:12:07Look at that.
00:12:08Whoa, sunglasses.
00:12:11I like Ricky and hate him, but I think it's horrendous.
00:12:14I wonder what they're going to say.
00:12:15Those people in the grass over there.
00:12:18Those two.
00:12:18What are they going to say when they see this?
00:12:20Bright pink door opposite the house.
00:12:24I reckon they're going to love it.
00:12:26When the sun sets over there, that's just going to...
00:12:28Your whole house is going to be all pink.
00:12:32Excitement.
00:12:33Oh, I'm having so much fun.
00:12:36Shame, I've got to f***ing look at it.
00:12:50Welcome back to the block.
00:12:52It's mid-Saturday afternoon of front yard and garage week
00:12:55and our blockheads are working to complete the final spaces of their house.
00:13:02Feel good.
00:13:04Yeah, last final push for our house on the block.
00:13:08Are you liking your desk?
00:13:10Loving it.
00:13:11We've been waiting for this week for 12 weeks pretty much
00:13:15because we've been so excited to share this area, the balcony.
00:13:19That's our main entertaining area.
00:13:21Christian and Mimi have a unique footprint this week,
00:13:24including their first floor balcony, which overlooks their front yard.
00:13:28A secondary driveway that leads to a garden shed and their jewel garage.
00:13:34Upstairs on their entertainer's balcony,
00:13:36they'll feature HomePro automated exterior blinds,
00:13:40a woof barbecue, a bar table with seating for six,
00:13:43a dining table with seating for eight
00:13:46and a lounge area that can sit at least eight people.
00:13:50You open up the double doors and you've got an inside
00:13:52and then an outside area that sort of becomes one
00:13:55and what we were lacking in the living dining week for the judging there,
00:13:59we gained for outside, which is amazing for like a holiday home.
00:14:05And the piece de resistance is a $30,000 woof barbecue
00:14:09that Christian and Mimi won back in week one.
00:14:13Oh, look at that.
00:14:16Like a glove.
00:14:17So hopefully the judges understand why we didn't have a built-in barbecue in the backyard
00:14:23because this is more functional being right next to the kitchen.
00:14:28And landscaper Troy has just the thing to sell the vacay dream.
00:14:32We've built a secondary driveway for the holiday destination.
00:14:35A lot of people have caravans and boats and things.
00:14:37So instead of the judges having to look at a driveway for nothing,
00:14:42I brought my boat up just to show them that this is another story spot
00:14:45to park either a boat or a caravan.
00:14:50We've got a boat.
00:14:52We've got a boat.
00:14:54Troy's moving in his dinghy.
00:15:00Yes, house three have got a boat,
00:15:02but it's not really a good place to store a boat in the middle of the driveway.
00:15:06I can happily just park it here.
00:15:10I can't stop staring at that palm tree.
00:15:12It's gigantic.
00:15:15Ours definitely looks bigger from here because it's right in front of me.
00:15:19This is only this big.
00:15:22Yes, correct.
00:15:23House five does have a shrub and a teddy.
00:15:34Grumpy.
00:15:35Scotty.
00:15:36The DIY Mitre 10 project doing it right the first time.
00:15:39Are you doing it right?
00:15:40I believe I'll let you decide on that.
00:15:42What do you think?
00:15:43It looks good.
00:15:43Cypress pine, ground perfect, termite proof.
00:15:46We like cypress pine.
00:15:47Yep.
00:15:47I'm not going to swap hats with you, but I'm just going to give you this hat.
00:15:50Oh, I like that one.
00:15:50Here, whack that on.
00:15:52And it comes with a little gift, which is 5,000 smackeroonies.
00:15:57Thank you, Scotty.
00:15:58Thanks, Mitre 10.
00:16:00Let's get down.
00:16:03You look out and there is people and vehicles everywhere.
00:16:08It's manic.
00:16:12There's excavators everywhere.
00:16:14There's trucks coming in and out.
00:16:15Wheelbarrows going flying everywhere.
00:16:17A lot of wheelbarrows getting stolen from house to house.
00:16:20Thanks for that.
00:16:21Oh, worrisome.
00:16:23Can you believe it's alive?
00:16:24No, I don't want to go in it.
00:16:25No, I don't want to go in it.
00:16:25No, no, no.
00:16:26No, no, no, no.
00:16:27Blimey.
00:16:28No.
00:16:28No.
00:16:29On your own house.
00:16:30No.
00:16:30On the block.
00:16:31No.
00:16:31Oh!
00:16:33They'll be dragging me out of here.
00:16:35But as the power tools deadline fast approaches
00:16:38for the very last time on this season's houses,
00:16:42this will be the final hurrah for our blockheads and their chosen trade families.
00:16:47I'm doing a very rough still.
00:16:49It's a very, very sad day for us.
00:16:51Sad to leave Dunk.
00:16:53Right now, Dunk is a major part of our life.
00:16:56Yeah.
00:16:56Like when you spend that much time with your team,
00:16:59you establish a real close bond.
00:17:01I've got a farewell present I found.
00:17:04I bought it and it's my present to House 3.
00:17:08Wow.
00:17:09And it should be coming tomorrow morning.
00:17:11That's amazing.
00:17:12Thank you so much, mate.
00:17:13Pleasure, guys.
00:17:14Love you, Dunk.
00:17:15It wouldn't have been a block without you, mate.
00:17:18It was a lot of fun.
00:17:19You've made our experience.
00:17:20It was a lot of fun.
00:17:21We wouldn't have been able to achieve this house without the team that we've got.
00:17:25Thanks, brother.
00:17:26Thanks, bro.
00:17:26Not a problem.
00:17:27Appreciate it, dude.
00:17:28You know, I think they're unsung heroes.
00:17:30Like, we're the faces of this house, but we don't know building.
00:17:33They're the ones that are delivering high quality standard finishes
00:17:38and making it the house that it is.
00:17:41Honestly, man, couldn't have done it without you guys.
00:17:42We literally couldn't have.
00:17:44Legend.
00:17:44Thanks, bud.
00:17:45Special mention has to be made to Andrew, a building under construction, who is our builder.
00:17:50We'll catch up in Melbourne anyway, if you want.
00:17:52You got my number.
00:17:52All right, bro.
00:17:53See you, bud.
00:17:54We love our builders.
00:17:55Thank you for your building.
00:17:57Could not be here without you.
00:17:59Been fantastic being here over the last couple of weeks.
00:18:02You know, we've had your ups and downs, but I think it's just like a big family.
00:18:06I'm waiting for a phone call tomorrow night to say that you want a car,
00:18:08then you can come and pick me up and take me for dinner.
00:18:10Yeah, sounds good.
00:18:11All right.
00:18:12Thank you again, all right.
00:18:15I hope you have the time of your life.
00:18:28First bar crasher in block history getting backed into the driveway.
00:18:32If that's not style, I don't know what is.
00:18:35Seriously, something I've wanted to see for a long time, but so much to do.
00:18:39We've got a ton to do.
00:18:40This is the most daunting night ever.
00:18:45So what's left?
00:18:46Set the Argentinian barbecue up.
00:18:48Clean the garage and paint the front door.
00:18:50Clean.
00:18:52Style.
00:18:53Cut vegetables.
00:18:54I love color blocking.
00:18:56You see the green fruit?
00:18:58Paint the garage.
00:18:59Add in the storage in the garage.
00:19:01I hate flat pipe furniture.
00:19:03Gurney everything down.
00:19:05And this is the door reveal.
00:19:08I love it.
00:19:12So my day just got completely topped off.
00:19:15We have no lounge.
00:19:20It's Saturday and it's dark and the couch order isn't here.
00:19:23So I messaged and said, hey, I'm not sure if anything's gone wrong or
00:19:27if you've just left them somewhere, but I'm still waiting on those chairs from Cave.
00:19:32And she's like, no, babe, remember?
00:19:34I said you couldn't get them.
00:19:36Well, we don't have an outdoor couch now.
00:19:38Why not?
00:19:39Because the one that she got told is coming.
00:19:41It's not coming.
00:19:43I did go down to visit Kylie and Brad.
00:19:46I've heard on the grapevine that they were missing some furniture
00:19:49and they're looking for some furniture.
00:19:50I heard that you guys don't have like a lounge set.
00:19:53So I want to see if she wanted one of mine.
00:19:57So yeah, let her know if she wants that.
00:19:59I have like all three.
00:20:01I have that.
00:20:03They had such a rough week last week.
00:20:05I want them to have a completed space.
00:20:07So if I could help 100%, I'd help out.
00:20:11No.
00:20:12I don't want anyone's seconds.
00:20:13OK.
00:20:16The girl said they hadn't used it.
00:20:18No, that's... I don't want it.
00:20:20All right.
00:20:20She came over and I said I would say it to you.
00:20:23But there are couches.
00:20:25There are people offering to help.
00:20:27Why won't you allow yourself that?
00:20:31I don't like charity and I don't like help.
00:20:34It shows weakness.
00:20:35What is it?
00:20:35100% shows weakness.
00:20:36When you accept people's help.
00:20:38Yes.
00:20:39When you accept people's help or when I accept people,
00:20:41or anyone accepts help.
00:20:43When I accept people's help.
00:20:45Upset by the missing lounge in her barbecue area,
00:20:49Kylie focuses on styling the tennis deck,
00:20:51only to discover the nine and six painter
00:20:54who was responsible for painting the exterior trims
00:20:57has left before finishing.
00:20:59And then I walk out the back thinking,
00:21:00I'm going to start styling
00:21:01and I'm just going to get away from looking out there.
00:21:04And the nine and six painter had started painting,
00:21:09but then he'd only just cut it in and left.
00:21:12She's going to lose it.
00:21:13I can paint it.
00:21:14It's fine.
00:21:15Just go and do something else.
00:21:16Don't just close the door on me.
00:21:18He's not allowed to be painting.
00:21:20Stop it.
00:21:20I don't need the help.
00:21:22They're not going to help us to finish it.
00:21:23So it's not going to get done.
00:21:25Just leave it.
00:21:27All of you.
00:21:28And I wasn't mad at Ado.
00:21:29I was mad at the fact that it's not his job to paint it.
00:21:33I want everyone gone.
00:21:36I'm not kidding.
00:21:37I am actually not kidding.
00:21:41I can't deal.
00:21:45Because I can't deal.
00:21:46We'll done and then we'll go.
00:21:47I just feel like everyone is against us.
00:21:52Like that's how it gets.
00:21:53Get them out.
00:21:56I can't control them.
00:21:58Tell them to leave.
00:21:59I don't want their help.
00:22:00I can finish it.
00:22:02We're done.
00:22:15It's the last hour of renovating the Block Homes 2024.
00:22:19And our teams are rushing to unveil these works of art
00:22:22to the judges for the final time.
00:22:30This could be yours.
00:22:31You're going to put it in my garage, Scotty.
00:22:36This could be yours.
00:22:39Oh my god, that's cold.
00:22:42Good luck, guys.
00:22:45Let's go, guys.
00:22:46Let's go, let's go.
00:22:55Scotty, it's the end.
00:22:57It's the end?
00:22:59It's the end.
00:23:02Tools down.
00:23:11Well done, brother.
00:23:12It's over.
00:23:13Solid effort.
00:23:14Well done.
00:23:17Just leave it, love.
00:23:19Just leave it.
00:23:20Wash your hands.
00:23:21It's done.
00:23:23I can't believe we've done 12 tools downs.
00:23:2620th season done.
00:23:28Scotty.
00:23:29Do we get to hug you now, mate?
00:23:30After 12 weeks of coming here.
00:23:32He's like, I don't know if I can do it.
00:23:33Group hug.
00:23:35We put 110% effort, like tears, sweat, you name it, all into the house.
00:23:42Couldn't have done any more.
00:23:43It's been incredible.
00:23:44You've all come down to admire a brand new car.
00:23:46Yes.
00:23:47I do feel proud.
00:23:47Like, that's a pretty huge achievement.
00:23:49And we did that.
00:23:50And we didn't crack.
00:23:52And we didn't break down.
00:23:53And we did break down.
00:23:55But we got back up.
00:23:56Yeah.
00:23:57I couldn't have done this without you.
00:24:00I'm sorry.
00:24:01I felt so proud being able to share that, that everyone was incredible.
00:24:04Kind of made it really sink in.
00:24:06Like, wow, we did this.
00:24:07Like, it's done.
00:24:08Bradley.
00:24:09Hello.
00:24:10Bradley.
00:24:10Hello, Joel.
00:24:11Congrats.
00:24:12All done.
00:24:13Did it.
00:24:13All done.
00:24:14Finished your house, mate.
00:24:16Just about.
00:24:19You guys have created a village.
00:24:20Yes.
00:24:21That's what you've done.
00:24:21You've built a village.
00:24:23And some lucky families are going to live in this village.
00:24:25Yeah.
00:24:26That you created.
00:24:27So you need to get changed into some nice clobber.
00:24:30The judges are coming.
00:24:31We're going to the winery tonight.
00:24:39Why did you guys come on the block?
00:24:42Brad and I came on the block for a holiday.
00:24:46We're always working.
00:24:47Always being parents.
00:24:50Brad and I keep very separate finances.
00:24:53And his business runs very well the way he set it up.
00:24:57When I'm not working, I don't get paid.
00:25:00And I work six days a week.
00:25:02Like, we literally live day to day.
00:25:05So you're sort of just hopeful that you do enough on your house here that,
00:25:13you know, someone's going to want to buy it.
00:25:17So hopefully we can have something after all this crazy experience.
00:25:23Oh, hello ladies.
00:25:28I know you look terrific.
00:25:30Welcome to the Phillip Island Winery.
00:25:33How good is this joint?
00:25:35Well done.
00:25:36You have finished the block.
00:25:40What a transformation it is from building site to, well, blocktastic.
00:25:45Don't you reckon?
00:25:46It's incredible.
00:25:47You can really feel the holiday vibes coming out of all your houses.
00:25:51Now the front yards and facades are done.
00:25:54And it's such a shame that you can't just have a holiday right now, isn't it?
00:25:58Instead of plunging in to one more week of renovating at the Disney Plus Clubhouse.
00:26:03But don't worry about that.
00:26:04That's next week.
00:26:05Yeah.
00:26:06Forget about that.
00:26:07What we're here for tonight is to find out who is driving home in the Ford Mustang Mark E.
00:26:15Wow.
00:26:15Beautiful car.
00:26:16Let's find out who it's going to be, shall we?
00:26:21Starting with Matt and Charlotte.
00:26:39This circle's a little bit all over the shop.
00:26:42We're doing front yard and the garage.
00:26:46Simple, like you've got white cladding.
00:26:47Let's make it nice and clean.
00:26:49Grass, plants up against the white.
00:26:51Outside of our house is being cladded with James Hardy.
00:26:54We've picked surfers as our main color.
00:26:56And then monument accents.
00:27:03Our dad has come to visit.
00:27:05He's a hard little worker.
00:27:07When it's your dad, you know where he's fine.
00:27:11We're in the front yard.
00:27:11We've just got a small deck going in there.
00:27:13Over here, we've just got, yeah, the lawn continuing in.
00:27:16So we've got French paving leading into our front doors.
00:27:21And we've got a nice deck coming out to meet it.
00:27:25We have our garage door getting installed.
00:27:27Auto remote access for our garage door.
00:27:32So we have the dream garage flooring.
00:27:34This makes it nice and smooth and beautiful.
00:27:36And you've got your moonscape, wholesome concrete driveway.
00:27:40You know what is quite beautiful?
00:27:41The fact that every driveway is individual to the houses.
00:27:45The different stone for every driveway is cool.
00:27:48I don't think we cried this week.
00:27:50Wow, go us.
00:27:52That's the first week of not crying.
00:27:53I was close. I was close.
00:27:57I hope the judges take away that,
00:28:00although it might be a little bit more pared back,
00:28:02it's a holiday house and low maintenance.
00:28:05Low maintenance is key.
00:28:06We've got a massive grass bit.
00:28:08Who doesn't want to be playing cricket out the front?
00:28:15It's beautiful as it is and simple.
00:28:19What a facade. How beautiful is this?
00:28:21It's so lovely.
00:28:23It's incredible.
00:28:25How lucky are they with this beautiful tree?
00:28:27Yeah.
00:28:28It's so big, like the actual facade, it's massive.
00:28:31Today was full of praise for the moonscape geostone you chose.
00:28:35It's good to see it's got the driveways out.
00:28:37I only think I'm sort of seeing at the moment,
00:28:39it just doesn't give me enough height.
00:28:40I'd say they spend all their budget in the backyard.
00:28:43I think you're exactly right here.
00:28:45I mean, look, we have got one of the existing palm trees here,
00:28:47but it feels like it's on its own.
00:28:49All of the judges think you probably blew the budget in the backyard.
00:28:53Front yard, it's nice.
00:28:55Does it need a little bit something else?
00:28:57I think it does.
00:28:58Darren loved seeing a garage that wasn't full of rubbish
00:29:00for the first time this series.
00:29:06This is one of the best styled garages I think I've ever seen on the block.
00:29:12This is full on.
00:29:13Marty was impressed with the Dream Garage flooring.
00:29:16This is the first time I've actually walked into a garage with this product,
00:29:19and it seems like a really great option.
00:29:22They've taken the care to put all this James Hardy around the perimeter as well.
00:29:26It's actually usable, it's functional.
00:29:29So they've got all the things that you need.
00:29:31And I love all the amenities here for sustainability,
00:29:34like we've got the charger for the car.
00:29:36We've got a solar battery power,
00:29:38so it just means that they're away all the time.
00:29:41They'll catch all this beautiful energy and have it there ready to use.
00:29:45Great idea from you, Brad.
00:29:46Yeah, Brad, well done.
00:29:48Calling battery, Brad.
00:29:49Scotty?
00:29:51Ever ready.
00:29:56I love the scene, the Grafico sets.
00:29:58That's how I remember Phillip Island.
00:30:00So to me, that sets the nostalgia
00:30:03and that connection to this incredible space that they've been given.
00:30:06So they're telling the story.
00:30:08They're selling the dream.
00:30:10They're selling the imagination in a garage.
00:30:13They then took in the rest of your front garden,
00:30:15starting with the awesome scale of the entryway.
00:30:18Oh, what an entry.
00:30:20Look at the height.
00:30:22Take it in, take it in from Entrance Appeal.
00:30:25Architecturally, it's got lots going for it,
00:30:29and it just feels...
00:30:30Unfinished?
00:30:31Yeah.
00:30:33Well, the Arthropodium probably would have done better along the sides here.
00:30:36They've got what they say is Correa Alba,
00:30:38so that's more of your natural,
00:30:40well, it's indigenous to this area as well at the same time,
00:30:43but that's going to grow outwards.
00:30:45So something to frame each side would be a lot better.
00:30:49And for Shana, some more thought could have gone into this lighting of this area too.
00:30:54I think a complete letdown of the architect's vision
00:30:58is not highlighting the inside of this with either a light or lighting.
00:31:03They're luxurious spaces when you have those empty voids
00:31:06and you do something with them.
00:31:08Evidently, there's budget constraints.
00:31:10But a light doesn't cost a lot.
00:31:13On to the positives.
00:31:14Dave was pleased to see the scale of the front lawn.
00:31:18But they have got a huge front lawn, which they can obviously play cricket.
00:31:21For me, the first thing I'd be doing as a buyer
00:31:23is getting a hedge growing along this lawn.
00:31:25For the last judging of House 1,
00:31:28the judges want to applaud you for finishing your home.
00:31:31What an incredible job you have both done.
00:31:35Coming in after week four on the block,
00:31:38something that's never been done before in 20 seasons of the show.
00:31:43They came in with a bang and they did some really good stuff
00:31:45and like, you know, got tens.
00:31:47And as much as they've let themselves down on the last one here,
00:31:51we've got to acknowledge how great they've done with the house.
00:31:54They did a bloody good job.
00:31:57Well done, Maddie and Charlotte.
00:31:59That is it.
00:32:08It's time to vote for the contestants
00:32:10you think have created a block winning build.
00:32:13To tell us which of these sensational spaces is your favourite,
00:32:16all you have to do is head to the block website now.
00:32:32Scotty and Grumpy.
00:32:33Scotty.
00:32:34You've had a really strong couple of weeks, haven't you?
00:32:37It's been good. Yeah, yeah, we've come out strong.
00:32:39Let's see what the judges think of this week.
00:32:44This week was really fun.
00:32:47For the front yard, what we want to do is focus on straight appeal
00:32:50and create a grand entrance leading up to the door.
00:32:54You mirror each side with lily pillies, frame it, right?
00:32:57Then we create a low-lying hedge out the front,
00:33:00raise circular garden bed in the middle of the turf.
00:33:02Yeah.
00:33:03Massive feature tree, low-lying planting.
00:33:05Yeah.
00:33:07We are going to get some arbors leading up to our front door.
00:33:12So that's three.
00:33:13Yeah.
00:33:14We're just tossing up between if it's going to be three or four arbors.
00:33:18So you've got, I think, three.
00:33:22Holy ****.
00:33:23Started digging to put these footings down.
00:33:25Didn't realise I chose the hardest soil on the block.
00:33:30All I hear is crunch.
00:33:32Here's your trophy, mate.
00:33:37What's going here, then?
00:33:39This is a big olive tree going in.
00:33:40Oh, of course it is.
00:33:41Mediterranean.
00:33:42Yeah, yeah.
00:33:42We had to tie something back into the inside.
00:33:45This is all turf?
00:33:45Yeah.
00:33:46All turf around this feature tree.
00:33:48This will be like a little bench.
00:33:49There's a bit of a seat to sit around under the olive tree.
00:33:51Yeah.
00:33:52I came in and I looked at the olive tree and I was like,
00:33:55you will grow.
00:33:57That stands about three and a half metres tall.
00:34:07We feel like we've done enough to win a Mustang.
00:34:18We feel like we've done the house justice.
00:34:21I hope that the judges sit around that tree,
00:34:23look back toward the house and see the amount
00:34:27and the quantity of different species of plants.
00:34:31Ooh, that's more like it.
00:34:35Wow.
00:34:35That looks lush and expensive and inviting.
00:34:41This is a facade.
00:34:43Look at the different plants in here.
00:34:44What are we looking at, Dave?
00:34:45Well, this has got the absolute perfect brief of coastal.
00:34:49Dave said that it has every type of plant I would want to see here.
00:34:54I love it.
00:34:55Visually, it is warm, it's cosy, it's rich.
00:34:59And audibly, it's just insane.
00:35:01And audibly, it's just insane.
00:35:04You can hear those amazing water features.
00:35:07And it's a really nice contrast as well with house one,
00:35:10how this exterior, it feels very beachy.
00:35:12This product.
00:35:13Each house has its own character
00:35:16because they've used a different James Hardy product.
00:35:18And the little details just set each house apart
00:35:21and had their own sense of personality.
00:35:23Hats off to our architect, Julian Brenchley.
00:35:27But also, we have black and white,
00:35:30like stark contrast here.
00:35:33And the thing that makes it soft
00:35:35is we have sandstone and limestone.
00:35:37We've got this beautiful soft aggregate.
00:35:40Oh, this is definitely a plan that they've thought about.
00:35:42It hasn't just been gone right out,
00:35:44we're going to put plants here.
00:35:45Dave was loving the design of the arbour
00:35:47with the lily pilly flanking it on both sides.
00:35:50And that lily pilly will sort of hedge up and be quite tall.
00:35:53You can pinch that to 10 metres if you let it go.
00:35:55So you'll be walking down like a long hallway
00:35:57of just beautiful green with those lovely architectural arbours,
00:36:00leading into that beautiful void.
00:36:09Walking into the garage, Shona said...
00:36:11Look, the garage has got what a garage needs.
00:36:14It's got the beautiful sustainability elements
00:36:16we saw in house one, the basic racking.
00:36:18It doesn't have to be over the top.
00:36:22And it's finished.
00:36:24It's not as cosy as what we saw in house one
00:36:26because that Hardy roof really did...
00:36:29How much time do you spend in the garage?
00:36:31Look, I'm a car man.
00:36:32I actually love being in the garage.
00:36:34I tell you what, I would have far preferred to see less interest
00:36:38in the garage and more interest in the front yard in house one.
00:36:41This is the right balance.
00:36:43The steppers to the entry proved to be very functional
00:36:46as they headed towards the front door.
00:36:49These travertine steps just...
00:36:53Darren thinks the entry is awesome.
00:36:56But how much do you love that?
00:36:57Oh, I love the handles.
00:37:00I love the profile of the door.
00:37:02This is entrance appeal.
00:37:04Come in here and look back.
00:37:06Like, it looks amazing that way,
00:37:08but it also looks amazing leaving.
00:37:11And that repetition of the shape,
00:37:12and they got the angle the same.
00:37:15Oh, I love this so much.
00:37:17This is a dream entry.
00:37:20Dave Franklin said, apart from some missing ground here and there,
00:37:23the pathway to your entrance is perfect.
00:37:26I love how wide they've used the pathway.
00:37:28Like, generally a pathway is anywhere between 900 to 1.2 wide.
00:37:32There's two to two and a half metres wide.
00:37:34That's luxury.
00:37:35The travertine clad square planter with the Kalamata olive,
00:37:39so modern-terranean.
00:37:42Kalamata entry.
00:37:44It's so fitting.
00:37:45The seating area looks superb with the arbour you built this week.
00:37:48How beautiful is that setting?
00:37:50Like, they've got the little paving around there.
00:37:53Wow.
00:37:53They've got their arbour as well.
00:37:54Again, framing that courtyard.
00:37:56It just feels very private here, too.
00:37:58Yeah.
00:37:58Yeah.
00:37:59Darren would have liked a couple more larger trees for privacy.
00:38:03And from the main bedroom, looking outside,
00:38:05you can have your doors open to your private area and have privacy.
00:38:09But one thing they all agreed on.
00:38:12Tall trees.
00:38:12Photographically stunning and architecturally stunning.
00:38:16It all ties in so beautifully.
00:38:19It's just stunning.
00:38:20Yep.
00:38:21And the fact that it fits with the mood of their house.
00:38:24They absolutely have had a vision from day one
00:38:27that they have delivered on every single week.
00:38:30It is still my favourite house on the block.
00:38:33And they finished it.
00:38:34And they finished it with style.
00:38:37I always say to my clients,
00:38:39my job is to give you something you never knew you wanted.
00:38:43And that's what this couple have done.
00:38:45They have created a house that people will be watching this
00:38:48that they never knew they wanted.
00:38:51And they want Mediterranean.
00:38:52And this sells the dream.
00:38:54I couldn't agree more.
00:38:56Marty thinks she will become an inspiration through this show
00:39:00for so many people looking to renovate and style their own homes.
00:39:06Courtney and Grumpy have delivered something
00:39:08that will inspire Australians for the next few years
00:39:11in a style that we haven't seen before.
00:39:13So it's a massive congratulations to them.
00:39:16Great feedback, Courtney and Grumps.
00:39:17That's it.
00:39:19Thanks.
00:39:22Thanks, Scotty.
00:39:24We said this at the start of the competition
00:39:26that we'd always do whatever it took to just finish,
00:39:29at least just to finish and present something we're proud of.
00:39:31And we've done that.
00:39:38Welcome back to the Phillip Island Winery.
00:39:41We've heard the judges' feedback for houses one and two.
00:39:44Now it's time for the boys in house three to face the music.
00:39:48House three, Rick and Hutch.
00:39:54Can't do it.
00:39:56Careful.
00:39:57The end.
00:39:59This week was front yard, side yard, back yard, and the garage.
00:40:03We've got decking area, fire pit, seating area,
00:40:07nice lounge area, barbecue and the tomato.
00:40:10We'll have a big-ass van here.
00:40:12How do you guys feel about a pink garage door to match your front doors?
00:40:16Yep, fantastic.
00:40:17Love it.
00:40:18Garage door doesn't have to be just a garage door.
00:40:20No.
00:40:22Are you wanting to show more of a feature light on the facade?
00:40:26Or just like simple up and down?
00:40:29Simple up and downs, I think.
00:40:31Yeah, okay.
00:40:31Yeah.
00:40:32That might be nicer.
00:40:33I think I like that look, yeah.
00:40:36We ordered four cubes of river rocks and basically screwed the whole backyard.
00:40:40And we don't want to have any wastage.
00:40:46Um, you got any spare rocks on you, mate?
00:40:50You guys actually did this.
00:40:54So we just sorted it out by hand.
00:40:57Sifted through a million rocks and took out the big ones.
00:41:01Today's massive.
00:41:03Lucky the palm tree arriving at 8am.
00:41:05Hope it fits.
00:41:07Nah.
00:41:08This has taken a long time.
00:41:10Unfortunately, we've caused setbacks to others today.
00:41:13It's just one of those things.
00:41:16Lucky the palm block was locked in.
00:41:19We've got a deck, we've got some food cubes,
00:41:21which is like self-sustained planter boxes with herbs and fresh veg.
00:41:25This is all connected and self-watering.
00:41:27And this whole farm will produce about 100 kilos of produce per annum.
00:41:30Wow.
00:41:31Doing a Grafico with a classic Ford GDHO.
00:41:35We're styling the garage with some Daiwa fishing gear as well.
00:41:38It's a fun factory built by Ricky and Hayden.
00:41:4670 foot palm tree, bar crusher, pink garage door.
00:41:53I think our front yard area is going to absolutely pop.
00:41:59There's nothing we could have done any better.
00:42:01Our team worked hard to help us get the best result possible
00:42:04and put us in a winning position.
00:42:05So it's us to lose.
00:42:10First thing the judges noticed isn't a hard one to guess.
00:42:16Uh, that wasn't there last week.
00:42:21Wow.
00:42:21How big is it?
00:42:22What a tree.
00:42:24Wow.
00:42:24That is insane.
00:42:25This is impressive, guys.
00:42:27What a statement piece.
00:42:32Well, they have certainly saved their money for this
00:42:35because this is not easy by any means to put in.
00:42:39I know it took a lot to get the palm tree into house three,
00:42:42but wasn't it worth it, boys?
00:42:44100%.
00:42:46Shona said we told them weeks ago to run with the palm tree theme,
00:42:50but we never expected this.
00:42:53It's beyond phenomenal.
00:42:55I don't think they'd go that big.
00:42:57Hey, they followed your advice to the very end, Shane.
00:43:00They ran with the palm theme.
00:43:02Aaron turned his attention to Chrissie to Mimi and said,
00:43:05house five will be spewing.
00:43:10Because they're like, yeah, we got the house with the big palm tree.
00:43:13And then the boys were like, actually.
00:43:15No.
00:43:19Right?
00:43:20You know what?
00:43:20The boys are not about subtlety,
00:43:22because not only do they have the biggest palm tree on the block,
00:43:24they've got the boat that they won
00:43:26and the brightest, pinkest garage door we have ever seen.
00:43:31All the doors by Auto Remote Access have been great this year,
00:43:35but yours is next level.
00:43:37A brave choice, but it works beautifully.
00:43:40And we've got a flamingo, like a vintage flamingo.
00:43:44It's funny because we've said over and over about this house.
00:43:46It's not chic, but it's fun.
00:43:48This is both.
00:43:49It is.
00:43:50This is actually really inviting.
00:43:52It's very sophisticated.
00:43:54It's very elegant.
00:43:56Elegant?
00:43:58Who would have thought?
00:43:59That's the first time I've heard that, mate.
00:44:02What a beautiful color palette, too.
00:44:04Like these two grays playing off that James Hardy profile,
00:44:08and you've got that lovely vertical line that's repeated all the way through.
00:44:11It feels very different to the other houses.
00:44:19Well, does this scream a bloke's garage or what?
00:44:24I'm loving it.
00:44:25It's again, fishing rods, race cars.
00:44:27All you need in a garage.
00:44:29Back outside, and Darren liked the use of the bedrock under the boardwalk
00:44:33and how textural the sleepers are.
00:44:36Like the fact you've got this texture playing against that rock face,
00:44:40it's really lovely and textural.
00:44:43Like that's the best word for it.
00:44:45We've got dichondra here, but all of that will grow along with the lily pillies through here.
00:44:50This will be green on green on green, and it'll be fantastic.
00:44:53And they did it themselves.
00:44:55R&H landscaping is born, they said.
00:45:01The judges then moved out to the back.
00:45:05Yeah, let's go.
00:45:09All right, all right, okay.
00:45:12All right, okay, all right, okay.
00:45:19Oh, wow.
00:45:21Shona really liked it from the beginning.
00:45:23Again, very informal, like the front yard.
00:45:27Darren liked it too.
00:45:28This is an entertainer's delight.
00:45:30Like that size barbecue and a smoker.
00:45:34And a fridge.
00:45:35And a fridge, and this is your entertaining space?
00:45:38I'm happy.
00:45:39Marty definitely wasn't feeling it as much as Darren.
00:45:43There's just things here that don't make a lot of sense to me.
00:45:45These food cubes, this is fantastic.
00:45:48But the probability is that the house will be bought by somebody that might be on holiday.
00:45:53They don't tend to care for these things as much as what you would
00:45:56if it was a home that you're living in day to day.
00:45:58After a month or two, this will just become a pot of dirt
00:46:02and it's going to have to end up being replaced.
00:46:05Marty thinks the gravel area is not lush enough.
00:46:10I can just imagine in a wet Phillip Island winter month,
00:46:18this is just going to feel like a slush pot.
00:46:22I really hate it.
00:46:24It does let us down here, absolutely.
00:46:27But looking, look, look back through here.
00:46:31It feels like a great holiday home backyard.
00:46:34Darren thinks you've delivered a foodies backyard
00:46:37that feels very friendly and perfect for a holiday home.
00:46:41Without a landscaper.
00:46:43Yeah.
00:46:44That's right, without a landscaper, they've done exceptional.
00:46:47There was one thing Marty did really want to praise you on today.
00:46:50The boys, how they turned around in this competition.
00:46:53They're the most impressive team in terms of listening and adapting.
00:46:58And they've actually built, all in all, a really appealing house in the marketplace.
00:47:02So I just want to commend them for that.
00:47:04That's it, boys.
00:47:08The positive feedback from the judges, it was like, wow, we did that.
00:47:23OK, how's four, Kylie and Pratt?
00:47:26End of a tough week for you guys.
00:47:28I'm sure it was hard getting it over the line.
00:47:35This week is definitely the hardest week.
00:47:41Our front yard is now pretty much right around to the tennis court entry deck.
00:47:49So it's quite a large space.
00:47:52Spoke with Julian Frenchley about the different James Hardie products
00:47:56that we were using on our cladding.
00:47:58You're going to have the strip and then Australia cladding coming up to it.
00:48:03It's going to last forever.
00:48:04Clever people at James Hardie have done a lot of work to make this impervious.
00:48:09Went to Beacon.
00:48:10I chatted with Lauren about getting some pendant feature lights.
00:48:14I think this one's like a little terrazzo.
00:48:16Yep.
00:48:16Go for the terrazzo on the black?
00:48:18Yep.
00:48:18For the front door?
00:48:19Yep.
00:48:19By three?
00:48:20Yes.
00:48:22I had my eye on maybe that terrazzo round table with the seats.
00:48:28Tick, tick, tick.
00:48:30Where's this going, Kylie?
00:48:32Outside because I can't afford up.
00:48:35We've got my mood on a board is what we have here.
00:48:39Crane, come down the driveway and park right in front of our house.
00:48:44It's in half of our yard that we need to be completing.
00:48:47We even had to send our landscapers home.
00:48:49We all just stopped and watched the tree because we couldn't do anything else.
00:48:54What are you guys planning to do in your garage?
00:48:56Garage doors.
00:48:57Dream garage, floor matting.
00:49:00Shelving on the left.
00:49:01I would love to have been finishing on a high,
00:49:03but it doesn't look like it's going to be that way.
00:49:13In our front yard with limited funds, it's pretty basic.
00:49:19There's some special papers that Clay organized.
00:49:21That's probably the only...
00:49:22The concrete steppers they were paying for.
00:49:24One good thing.
00:49:26It's quite a large space.
00:49:32All right.
00:49:33All right.
00:49:33Play hopscotch on these.
00:49:36They came in smiling, noting you could play hopscotch on the stepping stones.
00:49:41Wow.
00:49:44Marty immediately asked Dave about...
00:49:46What was that?
00:49:46I just said, wow.
00:49:47Like...
00:49:50Oh.
00:49:51Well, I think that's a pretty good thing.
00:49:53They came in smiling.
00:49:55Noting you could play hopscotch on the stepping stones.
00:49:58That's a good thing.
00:49:59Marty immediately asked Dave...
00:50:01So I obviously wasn't very happy with the boys' gravel.
00:50:03This is obviously a lot as well,
00:50:04but this is all going to grow in and actually form up quite nice?
00:50:07Absolutely. Again, coastal planting again.
00:50:10All of this will grow in.
00:50:11We've got the benches and again the lily pillies.
00:50:13All of that put together will give you a nice entrance.
00:50:16And you've got to love the brown steppers here.
00:50:18That's very architectural.
00:50:20The circles, too, are a really lovely balance
00:50:22against all the angles of these butterfly houses.
00:50:25Because there's lots of sharp points and sharp angles
00:50:27and then you've got this softness of the curve here,
00:50:29played out again in the mirror here,
00:50:31played out with the door handles.
00:50:33It's nice. I like that repetition.
00:50:35Mmm. Mmm.
00:50:37That's probably the only thing I'm liking right now.
00:50:40We're going there straight away, are we?
00:50:44I felt let down by them last week
00:50:47and I'm thinking, what's happened?
00:50:49Because to me, the grass works really well there,
00:50:54but a couple of the other guys,
00:50:56but a couple of pieces of grass there,
00:50:58like that just, it doesn't offset the big architectural wall.
00:51:03And I love the entry doors,
00:51:05but then you've got these lights going, why?
00:51:09Phillip Island is Windy City
00:51:11and those lights are going to be smashing against that wall.
00:51:16And she has never seen a piece of artwork outside before.
00:51:19If you have to put a piece of art on the outside of your building,
00:51:22you're in trouble.
00:51:23It's almost like they've checked out
00:51:25because you don't have a facade like this,
00:51:27which is absolutely breathtaking
00:51:30and then just lay a little bit of grass,
00:51:31put a couple of shrubs and call it a day.
00:51:34Feels like a trush.
00:51:36It feels like there was no money.
00:51:37On to the barbecue area.
00:51:39I'ma ride it till it's over.
00:51:46I'ma ride it till it's over.
00:51:52I'ma ride it till it's over.
00:51:54Okay, barbecue area.
00:52:00Looks like they've ran out of time.
00:52:02So it has been designed to be clad.
00:52:04They've just obviously run out of time.
00:52:06It's a lovely design.
00:52:07I love the shape that they've created.
00:52:09And I think if they do clad it with something that works inside,
00:52:13it'll be really beautiful.
00:52:16This area provides a good dining area
00:52:19that whoever buys your house or holidays in it will love.
00:52:24But there's something missing out here, they think.
00:52:27There's not a lot here, guys.
00:52:28It's a table, barbecue.
00:52:31Shona thinks it could have also been a real outdoor lounging area
00:52:35with some more thought had gone into the planning of this space.
00:52:40Marty thinks a lounge area would have been an important addition
00:52:45and it's an opportunity missed.
00:52:46You have all of this space with no lounge.
00:52:53All right, let's wrap it up.
00:52:56What's that?
00:52:57I said wrap it up.
00:52:58We had planned to have a couch.
00:52:59It doesn't matter.
00:53:00I'm not going to wrap it up because this is part of the deal, unfortunately.
00:53:05We're reading out feedback.
00:53:07It's just the last feedback that you're going to get from these judges on your house.
00:53:10I really couldn't care less.
00:53:11So I'd really appreciate it if you didn't tell me to wrap it up.
00:53:19Shona liked the driveway color choice of the Venus Geo stone.
00:53:29I do like the driveway color.
00:53:30It works really well with the look.
00:53:31We have a functioning garage.
00:53:35It's a finished garage.
00:53:37There's just no pizzazz, no extra.
00:53:40Frankly, I don't care.
00:53:41I don't think this is going to hurt the property in any way.
00:53:45Moving around to the seating area.
00:53:47So if the money hasn't been spent on the outdoor entertaining,
00:53:50the money hasn't been spent on the garage,
00:53:51then I'm hoping to see something mind-blowing here.
00:53:56Is that what you're hoping for?
00:53:58Absolutely not.
00:54:00When I'm designing indoor-outdoor,
00:54:01I always think where is the best seating area
00:54:05where I can look at the services?
00:54:07It's always the top of my list when I'm designing.
00:54:10It's not a very inviting area.
00:54:12And we'll need some screening added once the services are complete.
00:54:19As they come around the back,
00:54:20the judges could see a lot more effort in the planting.
00:54:26It's a lot of effort for the back of the house.
00:54:28Yeah.
00:54:28This is really nicely done.
00:54:31Then they found what Marty calls
00:54:33one of the biggest marketing hooks for your house.
00:54:39A body corporate decision to grant you direct access to the tennis court.
00:54:45This is actually a massive feature for a buy.
00:54:49This needs to be one of the biggest marketing hooks
00:54:51within the agent's campaign because this is a gift.
00:54:55Darren was looking at the effort that has gone into this.
00:54:58If he's gone into it and he feels bad for you,
00:55:01he could definitely tell that something has affected your momentum in the end.
00:55:06Money.
00:55:09I look at the effort and how well things have been done when they're done well.
00:55:14And they actually do do things really beautifully.
00:55:17But also, they just don't plan spaces that well.
00:55:21It's perplexing.
00:55:22Yeah.
00:55:23Obviously, they didn't know that you'd had a difficult week.
00:55:27But like me, they have no doubt that you have created a very saleable
00:55:31and marketable house on the block.
00:55:34You know, they deserve to end on a high.
00:55:37They should be really proud of themselves.
00:55:39They should be really happy from end to end of the whole house.
00:55:43And that's what we all want for them.
00:55:45We all want them to do well.
00:55:47That's it.
00:55:49It's finished.
00:55:49Really, I'm not going to get an a***** career out of it, am I?
00:56:01Jerk.
00:56:09It's front yard and garage week.
00:56:11It's time for Christian and Mimi in house five to hear their feedback from the judges.
00:56:16Okay, house five, Christian and Mimi.
00:56:20This week was an elevator.
00:56:24That's wrong.
00:56:28We are finishing our block house with our front yard.
00:56:31And that includes our beautiful balcony.
00:56:34We're doing a little driveway where you can park a boat.
00:56:36We're doing a garden shed.
00:56:38And the garage, it's all cement sheeting.
00:56:41But upstairs, it goes thick and then narrow and then thicker and narrow.
00:56:45And then the downstairs cladding is called cement texture.
00:56:48It's so cool.
00:56:49I love it so much.
00:56:51We need to clear the garage because also we've got a battery going in.
00:56:56We have got Dream Garages doing the flooring.
00:57:01The scaffold is coming down slowly.
00:57:04DIY blinds are coming in.
00:57:06And they will be installing the drop-down blinds on the balcony.
00:57:12So the task at hand for our high pages this week
00:57:15to install these pavers without actually grouting.
00:57:18And the pods are adjustable to get them all to the right height.
00:57:21Thank you so much, high pages.
00:57:23But yeah, our driveway is finally getting in.
00:57:25Our house is looking amazing.
00:57:31That is out of this world.
00:57:33Well, that's actually allowed dining, isn't it?
00:57:35These blinds will keep most of the weather out.
00:57:37We are delivering a Ford Mustang winning garden.
00:57:43That sounds good.
00:57:45I hope the judges can see the grandeur of it all.
00:57:51Big front yard.
00:57:52This is made purely to entertain guests, to have multiple families.
00:57:58Second biggest palm tree on the block.
00:58:01But the most unique facade.
00:58:04Yes.
00:58:04It's been a gift from the very beginning, hasn't it?
00:58:07There's quite a few unique things about this house.
00:58:10But look over there.
00:58:11You've got a gated section where you can park a boat, a caravan.
00:58:15Everybody loves a shed.
00:58:18That's something nobody else has.
00:58:23This is quite nice, bright and open, OK?
00:58:26We have got the second biggest palm tree here, which looks fantastic.
00:58:29Obviously, upstairs, looking underneath there, OK?
00:58:32So it creates a little bit of privacy.
00:58:34Big selling feature, that.
00:58:35Massive selling feature.
00:58:36Yeah.
00:58:39I had a peek inside the garage.
00:58:41It's got a bit of basic storage.
00:58:43They haven't painted this wall here.
00:58:45They've just left it.
00:58:46There is a few elements of styling with the...
00:58:49The buggy.
00:58:49The buggy and the goggles and so forth.
00:58:51I would have just had that plain and rolled those block works straight away.
00:58:55Yeah.
00:58:56Want to go to the little seating area?
00:58:58Because I think this is really quite lovely.
00:59:01The judges then took a seat up on the deck.
00:59:07I've just got a feeling that this is going to be a bit of a challenge.
00:59:10I have to say, it was a little bit questionable for me,
00:59:13having this entertaining area, just because all the cars going past.
00:59:17But it does feel more private.
00:59:19It feels quite nice.
00:59:20This is just an amazing, simple porch, Aussie porch,
00:59:23that you can sit at and have a coffee.
00:59:26The only thing that needs to be added to this space,
00:59:29a ceiling instead of exposed plumbing.
00:59:31I would love to see that managed some way.
00:59:34It does need a drop ceiling through here.
00:59:36Upstairs, and they found a space,
00:59:38they all agreed needed to do some more heavy lifting.
00:59:46So Dave, this living space was a bit of a bone of contention,
00:59:50because it's not a lot of space compared to the other houses.
00:59:53And the biggest thing was that it felt like a very big apartment.
00:59:56So this had to do the heavy lifting for the entertaining.
01:00:06We have fans, we have those fantastic screens that are retractable.
01:00:12That's really necessary if you're going to use this space all year round.
01:00:15What is great now that we're upstairs,
01:00:16as you can see through the splashback, is that you can see the pool.
01:00:19So at least you can keep an eye on guests downstairs.
01:00:22And also, what a barbecue.
01:00:24It's stunning.
01:00:25It's a huge feature of this space.
01:00:27I think it looks fantastic.
01:00:29Is it in the right place, though?
01:00:31No.
01:00:32They still would have preferred to see it down in the backyard.
01:00:35In every other house, there's a connection to that barbecue area,
01:00:39to that living and dining space.
01:00:41It's outdoor.
01:00:42That is also connected to a space kids can run around.
01:00:44They can be outdoors.
01:00:46But that's not it here.
01:00:47This is literally cooking, dining.
01:00:51Shona loves the elevation of this space.
01:00:53It's a magnificent place to be in the afternoon sun.
01:00:57I love the elevation here.
01:00:58I love the fact that you can be king of the castle
01:01:01and look over the block and see everything that's going on.
01:01:04I'm loving the stone here.
01:01:06The colouring goes so well with the flooring.
01:01:09I love the fact they've got these pots here.
01:01:11So it gives you privacy.
01:01:14But I have to say, they've got the layout wrong.
01:01:17For some reason, you have tripled your dining spaces,
01:01:21but not added much extra amenity to the lounge room.
01:01:24If you take away all the tables and all the chairs from this balcony,
01:01:28what's here?
01:01:30A few pots and that.
01:01:33So you've got 25 people sitting down eating.
01:01:36But you can only fit four or three comfortably there
01:01:41and four or three with the fire pit in your face.
01:01:44And that's a really strange place for a fire pit.
01:01:47Marty was really hoping for a big outdoor fireplace
01:01:50at the end of the balcony.
01:01:52That just would have been such a cosy, perfect place to tick that box.
01:01:56And you cannot do it in House 5.
01:01:59And you can do it in every single other house.
01:02:02You've got to be looking down that way.
01:02:04It's going to be a lot cosier.
01:02:05It's going to be a lot warmer.
01:02:06Were you going to do that?
01:02:07That was the plan.
01:02:08Money?
01:02:09Money.
01:02:11Darren says House 5 is still one of the most consistent homes on the block.
01:02:16It has consistently good bathrooms, great kitchen.
01:02:19The bedrooms are all beautifully designed.
01:02:21It's detailed well.
01:02:22They have put a lot of care and attention and time and effort into this house.
01:02:27And it shows.
01:02:28I agree.
01:02:29The agents will love marketing this house because it's also different from the rest.
01:02:34You know, we have this level of architectural detail,
01:02:38quality, and completely different looks and feels in a resort.
01:02:44On the block on Phillip Island, to me, is a major highlight.
01:02:48It really is.
01:02:48There's never been anything like this on the block.
01:02:50And there never will be again.
01:02:52And to have this as the 20th series, it's just pure joy.
01:02:56It really is.
01:02:57Unbelievable.
01:02:57House is done.
01:03:00Well done.
01:03:00That's it.
01:03:24Okay, scores.
01:03:25Here we go.
01:03:26For the Mustang.
01:03:32Okay, Dave Franklin.
01:03:34Maddie and Charlotte.
01:03:35Front yard.
01:03:36It's nice.
01:03:37Does it need a little bit something else?
01:03:38I think it does.
01:03:45Courtney and Grant.
01:03:46This has got the absolute perfect brief of coastal.
01:03:57Rikki and Haydn.
01:03:59They've got a landscape that they've done exceptional.
01:04:10Kylie and Brad.
01:04:12Feels like a trush.
01:04:13Feels like there was no money.
01:04:21Just look at me, mate.
01:04:22Look like **** again.
01:04:27Christian and Mimi.
01:04:30This is quite nice, bright and open.
01:04:40Right, yeah.
01:04:46Darren and Marty.
01:04:48Darren first, Maddie and Charlotte.
01:04:49This is one of the best styled garages I think I've ever seen on the block.
01:04:54Courtney and Grampy.
01:04:55It looks lush and expensive.
01:05:02Rikki and Haydn.
01:05:04This is actually really inviting.
01:05:06It's very sophisticated.
01:05:07It's very elegant.
01:05:14Damn, this place.
01:05:16Kylie and Brad.
01:05:17They just don't plan spaces that well.
01:05:24I'm leaving.
01:05:29I'm not doing this.
01:05:30I'm not doing it.
01:05:32I'm not buying it.
01:05:33I'm not letting you do that.
01:05:34What the **** are you talking about?
01:05:41Christian and Mimi.
01:05:42You've got a gated section where you can park a boat, a caravan.
01:05:46That's something nobody else has.
01:05:49Okay, Marty Fox.
01:05:53Maddie and Charlotte.
01:05:55What a facade.
01:05:56How beautiful is this?
01:06:00Courtney and Gramps.
01:06:03Visually, it is warm.
01:06:04It's cosy.
01:06:05It's rich.
01:06:12Rikki and Haydn.
01:06:13This is just going to feel like a slush pot.
01:06:16I really hate it.
01:06:21That's the point, Dad.
01:06:22And there's people that don't even need money.
01:06:26Kylie and Brad.
01:06:27It's almost like they've checked out.
01:06:33I need to go home and make money.
01:06:35It's as simple as that.
01:06:36I'm not wasting my time here anymore.
01:06:38I'm not.
01:06:39I'm not.
01:06:42We're not.
01:06:46Christian and Mimi.
01:06:48If you take away all the tables and all the chairs from this balcony,
01:06:51what's here?
01:06:55Okay, see you in a bit.
01:06:59Good luck, boys.
01:07:01Too many food kids.
01:07:03Chardonnay.
01:07:07Maddie and Charlotte.
01:07:08I'd say they spend all their budget in the backyard.
01:07:11Courtney and Gramps.
01:07:12This is a dream entry.
01:07:14Rikki and Haydn.
01:07:16Wow.
01:07:17I didn't think they'd go that big.
01:07:19Kylie and Brad.
01:07:19If you have to put a piece of art on the outside of your building, you're in trouble.
01:07:26I hate this mess.
01:07:29Christian and Mimi.
01:07:31Oh, disrespectful.
01:07:42Here we go.
01:07:43Titles.
01:07:50Okay, gang.
01:07:52Winner of week 12 on the block.
01:07:56Front yard and facade week and taking home the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
01:08:01All the way back to their place is...
01:08:04Here we go.
01:08:07Courtney and Gramps.
01:08:08Courtney and Gramps.
01:08:38Hey.
01:08:41Um, back in your lines.
01:08:42I've got a little bit more to say.
01:08:44That's all right.
01:08:44That's all right.
01:08:45Congratulations.
01:08:46Well done.
01:08:46We're just missing someone.
01:08:47We'll see what happens with that.
01:08:49Nudge.
01:08:56Don't you dare.
01:08:58Catch that.
01:08:59I'm going.
01:09:09I will break that camera if you come anywhere near me.
01:09:15And do they think I'm kidding?
01:09:17And don't.
01:09:22What do you want me to do?
01:09:25Kylie, please.
01:09:25We just want you to be safe.
01:09:27You don't want to...
01:09:30Kylie, can you stop?
01:09:31We'll turn away, but we can't let you walk there.
01:09:33We'll just have to follow you.
01:09:34Yes, you can.
01:09:35No, we can't leave you.
01:09:38Kylie.
01:09:39We have to follow you.
01:09:43She is lagging it back down in the middle of the road.
01:09:45We need a producer and a card now.
01:09:47How fast are you?
01:09:49All right.
01:09:50What did she say, Brad?
01:09:52What'd she say?
01:09:53Yeah, Kylie, when she left.
01:09:54What was the last thing she said to you?
01:09:55She's walking home.
01:09:57Hey?
01:09:57She's walking home.
01:09:58She's walking home?
01:09:59She can't have gone this far that quickly.
01:10:02Well, she's running.
01:10:04Hey, Jess.
01:10:08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:10:10Turn around.
01:10:13I think she's going the other way.
01:10:14Yeah, cool.
01:10:15Who's up there on the side of the road?
01:10:16Yeah, yeah.
01:10:16So we're back on the road now.
01:10:20Yeah, that's her.
01:10:23Hey, it's dark and unsafe.
01:10:25It's not unsafe.
01:10:26Please don't, Emma.
01:10:27I appreciate it, but...
01:10:28So this looks like a scene from a horror movie.
01:10:31Good, I f***ing love horror.
01:10:32Well, so do I, but it's even better if you get in a car.
01:10:35I'm not getting in a car.
01:10:36What, do you just go with Brad?
01:10:41Do you want to stay off-site?
01:10:42Like it's...
01:10:43No, they can all f*** off.
01:10:46Isn't it worth just...
01:10:48No, it's not.
01:10:49Because I don't want to ever have to come back.
01:10:51I would prefer just to have to leave.
01:10:53And then they're like, you get nothing.
01:10:55Fine, because you're all f***ed.
01:10:57And I'm just going to go home.
01:10:59I don't want to come back for auction.
01:11:01I don't want to come back and have to deal with it.
01:11:03I don't.
01:11:04I literally don't.
01:11:15Next week...
01:11:15Let's build a Disney Plus clubhouse, eh?
01:11:19Where are the contestants?
01:11:20Some new friends drop by to lend a hand.
01:11:23Come on.
01:11:24It's not a holiday.
01:11:26I'm here for a good time, not a long time.
01:11:28Me too.
01:11:29Awesome!
01:11:30We're back!
01:11:32It's good to be back.
01:11:33No John's in that room.
01:11:36This week, whoever wins gets $50,000 off of their reserve.
01:11:41Which is 50 grand in your pocket.
01:11:43Holy dooly, a big bang.
01:11:44If you want to win anything, it would be this.
01:11:46And the week before.
01:11:46It's not fair!
01:11:47I agree.
01:11:48Everyone else seems a little bit stressed.
01:11:50We've got a lot to do.
01:11:51There's a lot to do.
01:11:54Ooh, just a bit overwhelming.
01:11:57Wow.
01:11:58Look at this!
01:11:59We see some of the most spectacular spaces in block history.
01:12:03This is next level.
01:12:05I can't see anything that I'd want to change.
01:12:06It's just so good.
01:12:08And this time next week.
01:12:10These five houses go under the hammer.
01:12:15Will hearts break or records break in season 20's grand finale?
01:12:20Our room reveal galleries are now open for inspection.
01:12:23Exclusively at the block website.
