00:00In other news, starting on Wednesday, the debate in the Senate's plenary on the 2025 national budget is underway.

00:07Along with the funding of the Office of the Vice President, which may be reduced, MAV Gonzales is on the scene.

00:14The funds for the flood control project and for PhilHealth, which said they have a 500 billion pesos excess fund this year,

00:25are among those that the Senate will discuss in their plenary debate for the more than 6 trillion pesos proposed 2025 national budget.

00:33It's a waste if we add PhilHealth's fund, they won't use it.

00:37With 4% inflation, it means that PhilHealth will lose 20 billion pesos every year.

00:45They are not providing services to our countrymen because they are not spending the money.

00:52According to Senate President Chis Escudero, the first priority of the Senate is to discuss the budget.

00:57The session will be held from Monday to Thursday to finish it as soon as possible.

01:01Usually, the Congress' budget debates are held in the afternoon and sometimes in the morning.

01:06That's why the Senate President said that there will be no investigations while the budget is being discussed.

01:11I think we will be exempted from one or two debates because we are being chased by a particular person.

01:18I would like to mention that we are being chased by, if I'm not mistaken, the Bangsamoro election postponement.

01:26Escudero added that the fund of the Office of the Vice President may be reduced.

01:31But that depends on Senator Grace Poe, chair of the Senate Finance Committee.

01:35Vice President Sara Duterte also did not ask for a confidential fund.

01:39Based on what I heard and based on what Vice President Duterte said, it seems like he has no plans to remove his budget.

01:48This is not an issue of lowering the budget or not lowering it.

01:53This is an issue of looking for a job to avoid the budget because the budget is always lacking every year.
